Description
Whether it’s from your parents or your doctors or the beauty magazines you’ve read, you’ve likely heard that using sunscreen is absolutely necessary before going outside and spending any time in the sun. What you might not know is that sunscreen isn’t necessarily good for you because of the chemicals it contains. Those toxins can wreak havoc on your overall health.  Your skin is an organ that absorbs pretty much anything you put on it, so it’s important to be mindful of what’s applied on your body. The good news is there are lots of ways to protect your skin from the sun without the use of sunscreen. In this episode, we’ll share why sunscreen is not good for you, the many chemicals it contains and what those chemicals do, how your diet can be a natural sunscreen, and why you should probably get outdoors more frequently.   What’s in this episode: How sunscreen is actually not good for you and contains so many harmful chemicals  How eliminating fat from your diet interferes with how your skin interacts with the sun and absorbs Vitamin D How society, as a whole, spends too much time indoors and doesn’t build up enough melanin in the skin The ways we can protect our skin without using sunscreen For full show notes, resources and links head to: https://vitalhealthcda.com/podcasts/ The Vital Health for You Podcast is for everyone.
