Look, I cuss too, I’m no angel, but this is no way to conduct an interview. It’s excessive.

I didn’t really need another interview podcast, but I heard an ad for Weird Work and decided to try it. Sam gets such a wide variety of weirdos to talk to! Particularly liked learning about the hand model, ASMR YouTuber, and Elvis impersonator. Keep up the weird work!

The concept is cool with a variety of odd jobs I’ve never even consider or thought about prior to listening to the podcast. However I think two jobs could be discussed per episode since focusing on just one otter seems long and I lose interest since it sort of drags on after awhile.

It’s fascinating to hear how people make it. Work can mean a lot of different things to different people. It’s humbling to hear other stories that help you put your own experience in perspective.

It’s awesome to hear the stories of the weird things people do for work, especially when they’re very successful and have a blast doing them. Sam does a great job with the interviews to keep them interesting!

I’ve listened to two episodes. Both interesting g topics. But I find the fact that the host is constantly laughing INCREDIBLY grating, even when the guest is being serious/neutral. If this could change I’d remain a listener. Please stop (seemingly) trying so hard to ingratiate yourself with the...Read full review »

Ok, for me it is not always easy to understand the nuances of language, being Italian and not being the English language in which I express myself ... But I find this podcast very enjoyable, to the point of being the first (and the only) to which I enrolled in these years. Even if you do not know...Read full review »

This podcast stands out with an interesting and unique concept. Each episode is engaging and I look forward to future episodes. You never know what the next episode will bring! Maybe I’m biased though? I myself work in an odd profession, so I really enjoy hearing about other weird jobs!

Weird Work is a terrific podcast in theory - a program that highlights the weird nature of people’s bizarre odd-jobs that we never consider as “work” in day to day life. That gets stinted by Sam Balter. Balter’s hyper-casual interview style borders on awkward at times - he drops heavy cussing...Read full review »

The content and concept are interesting but the interviews tend to be a little lackluster. Honestly, I just can’t get past the interviewer’s voice. Is he perpetually holding his nose or does he always have a sinus infection?
_tinydancer_ via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/27/17
Am I listening to the same podcast as all these reviewers? The host is more concerned about being agreeable and liked than doing a good interview. I love the variety of guests, and they’re all obviously passionate about what they do. Every episode has a really good discussion, and I enjoy hearing how and why people do what they do, or how they turn their weird idea/hobby into a career.

I could listen for days man. Here are some things I like about it. • The jobs are genuinely weird and often highly specific. • Sam (the host) is good at balancing between letting the guest speak, asking questions, and talking about himself. The interviews feel very genuine and natural. • It’s not...Read full review »

I’m sorry, the people being interviewed are really interesting, but the host sounds quite annoying. The questions he asks are okay for the most part, but the follow up comments don’t seem to really add much to the interview. I really want to like this show.
