This season uses immersive fiction in an especially sinister plot. Robert Browning would be proud or jealous or both.

It’s a slow builder but so very clever. I thoroughly enjoyed the finale!

Season fills me me with the most dread yet. Perfectly dismal for these dismal times.

what a wonderful set of stories… I’m part through the seasons yet each series so far is its own treasure box of secrets and horrors revealed slowly and implicitly among the mundane. Totally engrossing, compelling, and stays with you. Brilliant!!

What was once my favourite podcast, with great story and writing seems to have disappeared. Latest season of self help tapes for Brian just seem to be a series of very bad dull self help tapes for Brian. What on earth Jeffrey?

PLEASE, if you’re reading this listen to season 1, but don’t let her voice put you to sleep, because there is a plot. Season 1 is an impeccable piece of media that truly changed me. It will rip your heart out and gently sew it back together. Nothing is what it seems. Season 2 is also really...Read full review »

This podcast requires a little patience and imagination as the story slowly unfolds but it’s so worth it. If you like your stories spoon fed to you you probably won’t like this. If you want something innovative and original you’ll love it. Also, Janina Matthewson’s voice is absolutely mesmerizing!

This series is so interesting. I love stepping into this world over and over again as I relisten to just about every season. The stories are beautiful. Truly an experience like no other. (The book is awesome too)

I love Listen To Nightvale but I’m caught up so I needed something else to listen to and I came across Among The Wires. I LOVE this podcast! I love how strange it is but how the more you listen, the more it makes sense and comes together. I love how each season is a stand alone story but they...Read full review »

I really enjoy the subtle world building - as we learn from odd references about the world the characters live in.
TMOPMO via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/12/23
I love the way the world building blooms outwards until you learn more and more about what it means to live at various points in this alternative history. Season five is my absolute favorite and I can't wait to hear more!Read full review »

My absolute favourite podcast. Hands down!!
LizzyV. via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 02/16/23
The format is unique, it hooks you in the subtlest way. In every season you have to figure out who you are as a listener, and you get little glimpses of this post apocalyptic world here and there. Genius, and deeply moving. I have loved every season.

I’ve listed to “all” 9 seasons (that’s as many as there are currently), and this is my FAVORITE podcast. I like it even more than WTNV. Now, not every season is as equally strong. In fact, some seasons need to be listened to more than once to fully appreciate them. The genres vary, and the...Read full review »

I haven’t always loved every season, but I continue to come back for the unique storytelling and world building. Much of this series is rich with subtext and subtle details that reward the careful listener. The anthological nature of it doesn’t necessarily dictate listening to the seasons in a...Read full review »

So, I was an old listener of welcome to nightvale but stopped keeping up with it some years ago. I’m a romantic, so the buzz of night vale wore off when Cecil and Carlos officially got together. I’ve recently got back into it, and heard of Within the Wires from the intro to one of the newer...Read full review »

Season One is pleasantly long. The podcast is calming and occasionally unnerving. Unfortunately, sometimes I need to stop myself from falling asleep while listening 😅 I like the t-shirt advert and the “you time” endings P.S. Does the arrangement of goats change their scent?
River_Rapid908 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/23/22
Season 5 there is a good story in there somewhere but it was dragged out by BAD writing. Very repetitive the character in the story often saying the same things in every episode “who do you work for” but it never goes any where . And boring drunken voicemails or moaning “I’m tired” voicemails. I...Read full review »

This is, by far, the best fiction podcast out there. Stands up to repeated listening. If you like dystopic fiction, you’ll like Within the Wires.
Liz959522 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/06/22
You have to pay REALLY close attention when listening to this one. I wouldn’t recommend doing other tasks while you listen to Within the Wires. You’ll probably miss some really important little details.

At first I wasn’t sure about this one. My initial reaction was that it was all over the place. BUT, I gave it a second listen and realized how cleverly written it is. Every season is linked, with little bread crumbs that creates the perfect chain without overpowering the different seasons. You...Read full review »

I will Echo some of the same comments that seasons one and two are easily the best. Three wasn’t bad. But along with season six the last few seasons Avenue almost no point in listening to. This last season endsAnd there’s no resolution you are made to assume one thing for nine episodes but it...Read full review »

I had to change my rating from 5 to 3. The first two seasons, absolutely amazing. The writing, the suspense, the sound design, the atmosphere was all fantastic. Every season since two has just slowly gotten worse. Season 3 was pretty good but honestly was so much better listening to it again...Read full review »

This podcast drama series is so involving. I don't quite know how to put it into words, and I can't compare it to anything else because it's its own thing. It requires a little perseverence to get into, but that makes it all the more worth while. Once it has its claws in you, it...Read full review »

One of my absolute favourite fiction podcasts. Deep, intriguing, fascinating stories of the alternate reality. Though all the seasons are good, the second one completely broke my heart. Totally recommend!

Is there not supposed to be an episode one? I thought it was a mistake and I’m waiting so I don’t start on episode 2 but episode 3 just came out and I’m worried I won’t be able to listen to this season for a while

Anyone else keep getting triggered by an entropy test that went around tumblr in like 2012. I love WTNV so giving this a shot. Hopefully it stay creepy yet not so auditorily triggering.

Listen to the first two seasons, smile and delete the podcast from your library. It’s all down hill after S2, the actors get worse, the story basically stagnates, and the world building slacks off entirely. It builds up a really great world in what seems like a collection of insignificant audio tapes, telling the story of “the society” which takes children away from their parents and erases any memories they have before the age of ten.
