Hoping for improvements in future episodes
"Within the Wires" is played as a series of self-help tapes. The first episode directs the listener through breathing exercises and mindfulness approaches. While the voice acting is great and the sound and production are good overall, the content in the first two episodes is just not where it needs to be. I was enjoying episode one up until it resorted to the slapstick-style creepiness that has been plaguing Night Vale productions lately. This story would be much more interesting without the lame attempts at "creepiness." Episode two seemed to tone down some of these issues, so I will continue listening for now. While "Within the Wires" is nowhere near as awful as the insufferable "Alice Isn't Dead," I have been very disappointed in the new shows coming from Night Vale Presents. Things were easy for NV when they didn't have competition from more interesting and better-executed horror/eerie-themed shows like "The Black Tapes." Night Vale Presents needs to look toward their roots (and at fewer Tumblr pages for fandom inspiration) to keep their productions fresh.Read full review »

Love the voice and cassette concept. Reminds me a bit of Jeff Vandermeer's Southern Reach trilogy, but still original and immersive.Read full review »

When I first listened to this podcast, I found it dull. However, the key is to actually do the meditation exercise along with it. In my experience, it's best done laying by the pool or at night in bed. If your just going to listen to it in the car, it won't be enjoyable.Read full review »

I feel so relaxed lol. I was slightly unsettled by the hand, but otherwise comfortable the entire way through.
