The masterful In Search of Lost Time episode took my breathe away. Now I feel like I found the lost time. The depth of the episode brought tears to my eyes.

But so, so, Western-centric. Every now and then we get thrown a bone from the rest of the world, but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who asked me for a podcast that covered important *world* literature.

Such a wonderful podcast about books, and the life the take after being published to the world. I love how the host allows the guests to speak and share. He listens to the guests, which then allows us to listen. Can’t wait to hear more! Thank you!

Fantastic concept and execution. The books and interlocutors are well chosen. I haven’t found any other podcast like this, which is surprising. I do think that the nudism issue should be addressed, but I personally don’t have a problem with it.

Have only listened to four so far but the analyses have been probing, intelligent and grasping (in a good way) for the elemental in the works. The guests selected have avoided the usual mono-colour of a single perspective (some of Melvyn Bragg’s stuff) or let the “wanted” nuance get in the way....Read full review »

It's wild how each interview is done completely nude, but THEY NEVER ADDRESS IT ON THE SHOW!Read full review »

This is an outstanding podcast. The teaching/information/insight/scope of the Speakers is well worth your full attention.

This is wonderful podcast. Nothing in my UK school education (a long time ago) offered me this breadth of exposure to good literature. I missed out especially on American lit so this podcast is an oasis of nourishment and encounters with books I have heard of but whose importance I have not...Read full review »

I subscribe and listen regularly to several literature podcasts, and Writ Large is by far one of the best. The content is fantastic, on account of well-chosen guest experts, and Davis’s talents as an interviewer. That said, I’m most impressed with the sheer amount of illuminating material that...Read full review »

Lucid, enlightening and substantive enough to whet one’s appetite for further reading. Also the choice of texts was both comforting for the classical / obvious ones and eye opening for the non-traditional / unexpected ones. Highly recommended.

I loved the Hobbes episode - brought my back to my college studies and remembering why I thought Hobbes was so profound! Thank you.

I simply love the old-fashioned reality embodied by this podcast: books, ideas, and narratives have meaning. They have many meanings as they interact with readers embedded in their culture and time across the ages.

Great questions and well produced. Very interesting to look at books and how they’ve changed our world!
