I have recently started listening to this podcast following a growing interest in the Great War. Although I am Canadian, the stories and experiences would have been much the same and in fact are often covering the same ground. I have especially enjoyed the Smythe diaries as it give us a first...Read full review »

Great to hear the stories of the WW1 diggers in their own words. Amazing research identifying diggers mentioned in each episode adds to the story.

Love the show but why the weird voice for British CO’s and the like? Really jarring and a bit silly to our ears!

I’ve been listening to this podcast in the tractors on the farm. I get hours and hours of seat time and this very well done podcast keeps me awake and interested. Just when you think life is tough, at least your not in a trench (unless you are).

I first discovered this podcast about two weeks ago on Spotify. Two weeks later and I’ve just now finished episode 2.50. This podcast is absolutely fantastic in terms of raw, unedited first hand accounts of the war and life during the war. I’ve never really had a big interest in WWI, being much...Read full review »

Watched Gallipoli on Netflix and wanted to find out more of what went on as it wasn’t really covered in my history scooping in the 70’s in Scotland. A very enjoyable listen and by the end of the first series you felt a great deal of empathy for the main character. Thank you,
