Fantastic first podcast. The kinks will get worked out.
It was ironic to me that Dr. Simons mentions the poor sound quality of phones (near the 10:30 mark) as his own voice is hard to make out in comparison with Mr. McRaney's. Audio snags notwithstanding, this is a pretty fantastic introduction to the mind of both McRaney and Simons. I've found the McRaney's writing to be a perfect pitch for folks with an academic background, but with a few fingers on the pulse of the rest of life and culture. I'll continue reading the blog, and now I have another podcast to throw into the rotation. I would expect people who listen to Freakonomics and RadioLab to like this podcast, for what it's worth.Read full review »

More reviews of You Are Not So Smart
I enjoyed the podcast and look forward to future episodes. I did find the audio quality during the interview distracting, but I have confidence that this can be remedied.

Very clear, very informative podcast about the workings of the mind. I'm greateful for what there is, but there's no denying that more regular episodes would make it a better "podcast" per se. Grab what there is and hope for more!Read full review »
