In our first episode Dr. Balkanski and Martha discuss some of the reasons why our mind can sometimes become out worst enemy on the tennis court.  We explored the effect of negative influences on our childhood from authority figures that can lead to negative self talk and low self esteem. Dr. Balkanski explained self esteem and two different kinds of self esteem. We finished with recommendations for on court and off court positive mental practices that can improve our behavior before, during and after a match.
