“I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, given the overall political leanings of the host and the show in general, but I really wish she would keep the conflict between the Israelis and Hamas out of it. Offering hookups for pro Palestinian protests and donations to support Palestinians, as she has begun to do, is a dog whistle for a certain kind of antisemitism. I am aligned with her politics on more or less every issue except for this one and really enjoy the show overall. Supporting the Palestinians at the expense of the Israelis has become a sacred cow for a certain brand of progressive, but it is a kneejerk response, and a misapplication of Western liberal elite social justice concepts to a conflict that requires a different set of concepts, and a deep reading of history going back thousands of years for most of which the US did not exist. I will be back, but I’m going to take a break for a while.”
