“Katherine's guest, Matt must be the most capable of the Nationals' offerings - he's intelligent, educated (as an economist we are informed) & articulate taking the age old tactic of denying oxygen to anyone who might disagree and scattering alarming scare-stories to detract from scrutiny of the legacy policies his party supports.
He talks-over the host and (near) intelligently rambles on a scatter-gun scare story path of half-truths to bolster his position (and deny oxygen, naturally). Example to point: ".. Taiwan is likely to be invaded and we (Australians) need to be alarmed at what it will do to the price of our Iron ore .."
Alarmist cods-wollop. Katherine did well to remain calm but could hardly mute her laughter.
