The Tennessee Titans used their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (seventh overall) to select JC Latham, a two-year starter at right tackle for Alabama. The Titans believe that the 6-foot-6, 360-pound Latham can easily transition to left tackle, where he will fill their biggest pre-draft need and play alongside last year's first-round pick, left guard Peter Skoronski.

The Tennessee Titans have started their offseason program, the early voluntary meetings and training sessions that will lay the foundation for what is to come in the regular season. Because they have a new head coach, Brian Callahan, they get to start the process earlier than most other franchises, and Callahan has his first opportunity to provide the players with his vision of how the team with operate.

Newly acquired cornerback L'Jarius Sneed made a good first impression with the Nashville media with his confidence -- not to be mistaken for arrogance -- and a good sense of how he fits in and what he can do for Tennessee's defense. A subsequent deal by one of the Titans' division rivals, it seems that Sneed's arrival could not have been better-timed.

The Tennessee Titans had more money to spend than most when the NFL's 2024 league year opened earlier this month, and general manager Ran Carthon has found way to do just that. His last move was a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, which included a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension for Sneed.

It was not the most high-profile addition the Tennessee Titans made in free agency, but it has the potential to be one of the most important. Tennessee signed an established backup at quarterback, someone who won't threaten Will Levis' status as a starter but someone who has won games in the NFL. In so doing, they dramatically altered their distribution of salary cap dollars from a year ago.

Now, the task for the Tennessee Titans – as it is for 30 other NFL franchises – is to try to find a way to match up with the Chiefs. The Tennessee Titans selected Brian Callahan as their next head coach and introduced him at a press conference on Thursday. Callahan is a second-generation NFL head coach, and -- based on an organizational restructure announced at the time of his hiring -- no more than third in line when it comes to making decisions related to the 53-man roster.

With last place in the AFC South, it is guaranteed to be a long offseason for a franchise that won back-to-back division titles in 2020 and 2021, and if national reports are accurate, it could be a dramatic one as well.

A day after the news broke that franchise great Frank Wycheck had died at his home in Chattanooga, the Tennessee Titans staged an improbable rally and defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-27 in a Monday Night Football contest. The victory did not do much to help the Titans' playoff chances or their standing in the AFC South, but it certainly lifted a lot of spirits and added to optimism for the future.

The Tennessee Titans have lost twice as many games this season (eight) as they have won (four), but their latest defeat -- 31-28 in overtime against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday -- was anything but ordinary. There are not many NFL teams that have a worse record than the Tennessee Titans, who are 3-7 following a 34-14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday. One is the Carolina Panthers, who are 1-9 as they prepare to face the Titans at Nissan Stadium this Sunday in what will be a matchup of rookie quarterbacks and a chance for one team to feel better about its current predicament.

Injuries to an offensive line that already was struggling led to real problems Sunday, a 20-6 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that showed rookie quarterback Will Levis needs more than his strong right arm to get the offense moving. As a result, the Tennessee Titans now have the second-worst record in the AFC and show no signs that any sort of move up the ranks is coming.

Coach Mike Vrabel said this week that rookie Will Levis will be the Tennessee Titans' starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. The decision ends Ryan Tannehill's time in that role and suggests that franchise officials have decided to use the remainder of the 2023 season to prepare for the future.
