I absolutely love this podcast. I first listened to the Emily Mortimer episode a few weeks ago and am now working my way through Season 3. Bookish has given me some great book recommendations, which I am enjoying slowly getting my way through. (The accompanying website is also very helpful as...Read full review »

This podcast is such a great concept! Learning what books shaped someone’s life and identity gives you such a fascinating window into who they are. And it makes you think about your own “life in books” as well. I’ve always loved reading, and books, and this podcast is a lovely reminder why they...Read full review »

I started listening to Bookish with Sonya Walger when it first launched and it’s one of my most anticipated podcasts! Anxiously awaiting Season 4 ! Whats great about it? I get to explore books from other people’s point of view, books I’ve never heard of- or might not have picked up that have...Read full review »

Sonya has a beautiful penchant for reading in a way that’s sadly been lost in the world quite often these days. The older I’ve grown and coupled with pandemic — I’m very guilty of jumping from scripted program right into the next until I have to do it all over on my Apple TV. This podcast has not...Read full review »

It’s so fascinating to hear about what five books shaped each of Sonya‘s guests. It’s a question I would have never thought of asking myself before hearing this podcast and one that I still struggle to answer now. How anyone could whittle it down to 5 books is beyond me. Great listen!

Love what you guys do. This podcast acts as the soundtrack of my commutes, when I’m cooking or even working out - basically any time where it’s physically impossible to read. Thanks a million for creating this podcast and community.

A book version of “desert island discs” which is made even better by Sonya Walger, who is a curious and well-read host. I stumbled upon this podcast after looking for new book-ish podcasts to listen to and could not love it more. Sonya’s love for books and her genuine interest in her guests’ stories is so apparent and it’s such a joy (and weirdly super calming?!) to listen to. Can’t wait to binge all of the episodes.

As a Desert Island Discs addict, I love the idea of this podcast. One big difference between the BBC's Desert Island Discs and this, though, is the fact that on Desert Island Discs the songs are more of a way into and interlude between different periods/events of a person's life....Read full review »

Often the names of the book/author being discussed are mentioned once, and then afterwards pronouns are used the whole time, and it’s easy to miss what the book being discussed is. But great podcast.
