“Thank you Katherine for finally making it click for me! I’ve known I had a binge problem for about 6-9 months and I’ve been struggling to conquer it through food rules. What I did not realize was that my binging was self inflicted by DIETING. your emphasis on the two steps of resisting urges to binge AND eating adequately has finally broken the stronghold. I was trying to end binging while also restricting and dieting and your point blank message that this is impossible finally made me trust enough to start eating regular meals and snacks which will help me resist because I’m never starving. Your gentle anti rule approach is also way more suited to my personality as I have a really hard time following even one simple rule. Then I’d beat myself up for failing which only led to a binge. I’m no longer so hard on myself and I’m not taking eating so stinking seriously. I feel happier , more at peace with food and best of all I’m not so hungry all the time. And as a side note I haven’t gained any weight so far as I assumed I would which is shocking to me.
