This podcast gave me knowledge I didn’t even know I needed
Let me start by saying, I have consumed a LOT of life coaching podcasts in the last 3yrs, starting with the life coach school. I definitely resonate more with Victoria’s approach especially with the somatics stuff as I often listen to podcasts when in chronic pain. I have shared these podcasts far and wide whether with consent or not, just hoping someone stumbles across my suggestion on reddit etc, as I think I got into it from biz related reasons? So here I am helping with a review! Happy bday! Hehe. Really, I regret missing the windows for joining Anchored as it seems very similar to DBT and ACT but as a supplement. While driving, especially when emotionally charged, these hit home. I’m nodding, agreeing, and also accepting. I have done SO MUCH self work through these free podcasts - and meditations and somatics workshop introduction etc. Really looking forward to the book. The emotional depth is unparalleled. Found out I have a lot of over functioning tendencies, have listened to that podcast three times this week learning, relearning. It allows us to see what we are ready to see in ourselves, see it in others if we aren’t yet ready to look within, and of course the intergenerational patterns coming out to play. I’ve become so much more calm and accepting of others and myself, as I practice self compassion. It’s a skill we must practice daily so there is no such thing as too much, unless it is out of balance. EMOTIONAL SAFETY was something I had never, ever heard about. As someone with a bpd dx this was a HUGE big life learn. Realising when I was showing up for myself, or actively not. I have read SO MANY self betterment books, heard sooooo many podcasts (actually have to plug Kara’s unfck yr brain as it was her podcast that led me to Feminist Wellness). Taking the model into somatics territory is amazing. You know this. It’s like you are filling in the little kitten steps that allow those of us with “emotionally shorter legs” to aim higher than we could ever think possible. Ok now I am writing a book here but a fellow Leo will probably enjoy reading this one..! I guess I am in over explaining territory so I will wrap this up. Would LOVE to hear more podcasts on agency (and over functional behaviours) ohh THE IMPORTANCE of language as you touch on that a lot too, creating emotional safety - like what if one’s home environment doesn’t feel safe? Can one be safe in an unsafe environment? Neurodivergence, also gut brain axis stuff, and more chats with others would be great. Endometriosis and other chronic health conditions being a result of suppressed emotional responses to trauma, choosing to heal - importance of neuroplasticity. Personalism! A lot of topics that have been touched on but would be great to get more in-depth and tag words collecting more listeners who are ready to take kitten steps towards being their most beautiful self. With all my love and appreciation for your selfless work. May the trees continue to bear fruits and give shelter to those who seek shelter underneath.
