Oh so THATS how you base train
I've dealt with shin splints and unknowingly overtraining for my entire active life. After completing an injury-free thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, I was feeling on top of the world. Gave my body a week to recover from the 5.5 month hike, and then hit the road running according to an online pre-designed training plan. I learned hard that walking 20 miles a day on trails in very different for your body than running 3-7 miles on roads a few times a week. After months of fighting persistent shin splints, visiting multiple physical therapists, and taking 3 months off of running, I've FINALLY started making improvements after listening to these lessons on pacing, effort, base training, and self care. 12/10 podcast, incredible resource for anyone suffering from running injuries out there.Read full review »
