I’m sorry, but I have to give you a big fat F for this episode. It was an entirely frustrating experience trying to listen to this— I made it through a grueling 20 minutes before giving up. I am dying to hear the story of Geeky Girl, and why she only completed 100 miles, what happened, and what...Read full review »

These are sometimes a bit long. But, when I have time, I listen all the way through. I really like the interview style. It helps me connect with the hikers. I feel like I'm back on the trail. Honestly, if they were shorter, I wouldn't feel as deep a connection. It really is like sitting...Read full review »

This is a superb podcast talking about all things thru hiking. Happily, not just US centric with Erin talking to folk who have hiked amazing trails from across the world. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Wanted to love it, especially because a lot of the guests are amazing thru hikers that I follow on social media. I was hoping to learn more about their stories and deeper questions. Seemed like a lot of the questions were just based on pics/captions from insta or generic gear questions.

Just a bunch of dirt bags talking about their thru-hikes.

Love this! Great for experienced and novice thru hikers or anyone that loves a good story. Funny, insightful, helpful, and inspiring.

The questions are incredibly surface level and never explore the real stories of the guests. We dont need 1 hour+ long episodes to find out about gear and hear empty questions posed in a weird order where the host sounds bored herself. Asking more interesting questions yields more interesting...Read full review »

Newbie hiker here, hungry for stories and culture and secondhand wisdom. This podcast delivers. The host, Erin, is a delightful and unabashedly enthusiastic interviewer - I appreciate her line of questioning, and I presume she has gotten even better at banter as the podcast has progressed - who...Read full review »

Love the hikers telling the stories. But I have a difficult time with the questions - one question is asked, and then another question is thrown on top of that before the hiker can answer. This is probably done to help clarify, but it winds up choppy and disjointed. Awkward laughing by...Read full review »

Have only listened to a few interviews- but engaging, in depth...a pleasure!

I want to like this more than I do, but I find that I can count on the same softball questions of each guest from episode to episode, usually confined to chosen gear, as if the measure of a guest is his/her sleep system or socks rather than the experiences that lead to such a decision (maybe the...Read full review »

Very helpful in planning. Great interview questions and clear audio. I especially like the interviews with women. These hikers are so much less judgmental! Although I’m only on episode 12.

Glad I started listening to your podcast in the last few months. I love hearing from another female voice. So sorry you were unable to begin your PCT adventure. Hopefully in the future it will work out. Thanks for your hard work.

Only listened to a few episodes so far, but really enjoying the podcast. The interviewer has a nice relaxed tone, asks good questions and gives guests space to tell interesting stories. Plus, I can never listen to enough discussions about gear.

Angeling in the Tahoe area we have learned so much from PCT thru hikers. They generally poses kind sweet spirits and have the most interesting stories. The same can be said for Erin’s Hiking Thru Podcast. I listen to many hiking podcasts and Hiking Thru is definitely in my top 3. Very relatable...Read full review »

If the title doesn’t say enough, let me say it again: I love this podcast! Unlike other hiking podcasts, which won’t be named, this podcast is drama free! Just talking about the journey, the gear, and what it meant.

I’m hooked on this podcast! Erin Egan is a brilliant interviewer and sets a conversational tone that just sucks the best stories out of her adventurous guests. Unpretentious, super informative and inspiring.
Coldmariner via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/07/19
Erin conducts great interviews and the listener can easily imagine the experiences described by her guests. What I love the most is that Erin hasn’t thru hiked before. Her aspirations of being a thru hike match my own and she makes listeners like me feel comfortable and welcome.

This podcast is very informative for both experienced and novice hikers. The personable, conversational style makes it an enjoyable listen. Erin strikes a good balance between interviewer and fan of all things hiking. Great podcast.

I love this podcast but the audio is really bad. I can barely here some of the podcast and have to just give up on some. It’s very frustrating but the content is so good that I keep struggling through the whispering. Please fix 🙏

The dialog with all the various campers is great. One small request, can you possibly make the audio a little louder? It’s hard to hear sometimes.

I listen to a few podcasts about thru-hiking one of which is John Zahorian’s Routes and have been searching far and wide for another one I’ll listen to over and over and it’s safe to say I’ve found it. I’ve tried so hard to enjoy this podcast however cannot stand these bro brahs and their constant use of filler words. The worst so far has been Oilcan’s episode. Really enjoying binge listening to this podcast. I enjoy the casual conversations between the host and guest. Learning lots and makes me super inspired to do more hiking! However, the volume and sound quality isn’t the greatest. But still well worth the listen! Can’t wait for more episodes!

I’m really lucky to have found this podcast. I’m an aspiring thru-hiker that wants to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2020, just like the host, and I’ve been trying to learn as much as possible so I don’t die on trail. Jk, but not really.
