At the heart of the podcast's success is presenter Hugh Linehan: incisive, impartial, knowledgable and respectful, he interviews prominent and (politically) diverse guests in a way that seems to relax them and cause them to be less party-political (and, for that, more interesting) than when being interviewed elsewhere. The quality and depth of the Irish Times's political staff is also demonstrated. There is surely no better weekly review of Irish politics.
