Interesting but the jokes and laughter and annoying and distracting

I am a white Boomer and I’m embarrassed that I know so little about most African countries. I’ve been through the first season and have learned so much. Looking forward to the other seasons. Thank you ladies.

Unfortunately, I don’t come across many history podcasts that cover Africa, so I always cherish the ones I do find and this is one of them. The hosts are very amicable and passionate about covering these stories. They’re usually well researched and knowledgeable as well and since they’re from...Read full review »

Your recent episode on French influence on the monetary system of its former colonies in west and central Africa is very poignant. These countries still remain vassals of France after all these decades of “independence”. In west Africa they tried to introduce a new currency - the ECO - to...Read full review »

You two are amazing! Your stories are engaging. Your perspective is intriguing (in a good way). And your topics are very enlightening. But most of all, the two of you are great story tellers and you really bring your various topics to life. Thank you for that. Ray

This show has taught me so many new things about countries and cultures across Africa, and how diverse each one is with their own traumatic past for which western countries have a lot to answer for. Very important facts about history are raised which need to be discussed more, the informative but...Read full review »

Really love the themes presented and really wanted to love this podcast but not a fan of the format. It feels like witnessing someone mumbling and reading through a presentation with sudden and very loud outbursts of sarcastic ranting. People who listen to this type of podcast all know that...Read full review »

I think this could be an amazing podcast but I found some of the episodes quite ill informed and poorly researched. The episode on South Sudan missed out lots of critical information and sadly didn’t acknowledge the nuance of such a complex issue.

I have listened to all your series. I have learned a great deal. British and European history and involvement on this continent has a great deal to answer for.

This is highly educational, entertaining, and deeply humbling. I’m only at my third episode but I want to listen to all of them!

African history is not an area where I have a great deal of knowledge so wanted to give It’s Not a Continent a try and I am pleased I did. I quickly warmed to the show, the hosts are great and obviously enjoying themselves when producing the episodes. Despite touching on heavy topics such as...Read full review »

The show is great and I have learned a lot. Keep up the good work and do as much as you can on the subject to include also current issues being faced by the continent at the hands of the Global superpowers.

In love with this podcast, I feel like I’m hanging out with friends and learning more about the continent. I love how witty these women are and yet able to convey the messages in such serious topics 🥰

A well researched and widespread knowledge summed up in an, by no doubt, very interesting, well organized and thought through presentation! But then there comes such a loud interruption of laughing in the microphone, accompanied by unnecessary and not thought through comments or metaphors that’s...Read full review »

A very worthy subject which could be a great podcast but the unscripted rants, although understandable, that the hosts sometimes go on make it almost unlistenable.

I love this podcast and it’s taught me so much about history that isn’t taught in the U.K. The level of research that goes into these episodes is unreal; and the girls are incredible hosts. They are so funny as well as sharing important information.

The podcasts are so interesting, and very informative, and contain information that anyone living in Britain should know. But, the volume control on the first episode makes it almost unlistenable, changing from whispering to shouting puts a real strain on the ears, I hope this is fixable, because...Read full review »

Where has this podcast been all my life? So so important and necessary to learn about the stories of each individual African country, something that the British curriculum simply hasn’t addressed throughout my education. Thank you so much for bringing this to my ears!

Unusual approach in that I feel that in many cases I know more about the different nations than they do but it works you feel their shock when they find out about places like Western Sahara. It’s about learning while they learn well done ladies keep it up.

Your podcast is very interesting and I’d love to carry on listening to it but unfortunately, the audio editing needs improvement. The current result of the editing is so jumpy that I’ve had to stop listening as a result. Hope you manage to fix it!

Literally binged every episode over the last 2 days and I’m hooked. Accessible, funny and extensive, this podcast has helped fill gaps in my knowledge despite studying history until A-Level (thank you UK education system) and is a great one to recommend both to friends and folk you hear still referring to Africa as a country. Thank you!

These guys are wickedly funny and the podcast is very relevant. The Africa is always described by people as a country without ever exploring the rich history of the many African nations. It’s great to find a podcast that delves into its rich history with wit and intellect!
