The Commute in July just wouldn’t be the same without the lads on the TDF pod Great mix of detail and fun Boulting always top class

Love the Tour and love this podcast. After watching most stages live, followed by the evening’s highlight show… This pod is the most perfect companion. The guys know their stuff, the chemistry between them is brilliant, it’s just like sitting in on a conversation with your mates... except they...Read full review »

Awful and completely brilliant at the same time. Never miss an episode. My favourite podcast of the year. Looking forward to next year already

This has been my favorite Tour de France podcast for going on eight years now. I think it’s a testament to how boring this year’s race was that the podcast was far more about French history, linguist sticks, and nattering about teasing each other than about cycling. As much as I enjoy listening...Read full review »

If you like rambling, interrupting each other with a definite pecking order and willy wafting, you might rate it 5 stars. I find it nearly as unbearable as the commentary from SBS in Australia. Their only saving grace is that a few of these guys do know something about cycling.

Wish this TDF podcast could be just a little less silly. Ned and David’s Giro d’Italia much less silly and more about cycling, more enjoyable. If I want comedians I’ll look for a comic’s podcast. Thanks.

Great podcast. Like going down the pub after the stage and chatting it through with mates.

Cycling through philosophy, linguistics and etymology. Leave your expectations at the door and you’ll enjoy this podcast more. If you appreciate some nuance and the culture around cycling this will be interesting to you, it’s excellent. (The one amazing little factoid about this show is that Ned...Read full review »

Just discovered this podcast to get Tour de France insights. Quite like it but wish the presenters would stop talking over each other which makes it difficult to understand what’s being said.

Londoner living in NZ now. I see your podcast automatically downloading to my phone and annoyingly know most of the result (because of the title) before I have had a chance to watch the stage.

Informative but relax. Like chatting with your friends in the pub.

Why do they even bother doing this podcast? It’s not as if anyone might be interested in their views on the race (rather than the humourless chat).

My 3 week French touring holiday is about to begin- loving it already!

Literally, the perfect daily companion to see us through the tour of tours during these uncertain times. Bull **** actually Loose bike riding chat from some race in France which can on occasion be a useful guide as to what has taken place that day, often not. Wouldn't miss it for...Read full review »

Great podcasts! The best! Erudite, enthusiastic, interesting, enlightening, wide ranging and at times very amusingly funny. Can’t wish for anything better to help us escape and cheer us from the dreary conditions under which the world is existing right now. Just love it! Missing it. Please...Read full review »

A rare mixture of insight, humour and variety. I mainly listen to it for the cycling commentary but the extra information, particularly the Russian Cold War tech had me intrigued and had me looking for details on the web. Ned and David are always engaging and the addition of Chris Boardman, Pete...Read full review »

Thanks Ned and David for your as usual excellent coverage of the Vuelta and the Tour. I look forward to the revival of Never Strays Far.

Bring Pete Kennaugh back, he’s young, in touch and offers real insight - quality insight is why we listen to podcasts. Bolting has little/no content, DM is ok. Time to upgrade.

Ned Loved your reference to Cant, Kent and Canterbury. Can’t believe you missed the reference to the third placed rider on the final stage! Looking forward to next year’s pods Pete (not that one)
Pete (not that one) via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/08/20
When they talk about cycling then this is a good podcast. However they seem to be bored with cycling and discuss Wittgenstein and the Nazis and review Haruki Murakami’s book What I talk About When I talk About Running. These are just 2 examples. Boulting has been know to ramble on about darts.
Selnirp via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/06/20
Unmissable, knowledgable commentary on cycling. I love it!

Normally great, unlistenable today due to DMs microphone sound quality, record from your own mics don’t record off the zoom call

Boultings attempts to make himself, Pete an David like top gear are, in 2020, a day late and a dollar short. The giggling and in joke humour is fairly pathetic. Guys you are not comedians and not as witty as you think you are.

Great podcast when it is just a duet - am afraid the TDF podcast is far too rowdy.

Agree with previous reviewers that this year the podcast has been weak. Must be difficult getting the right balance between informative discussion and light hearted banter but this year the podcast tended too much towards an ill disciplined rabble in a pub with too many interruptions and...Read full review »

I have loved these podcasts. It’s a bit like chatting after a race with mates - or a training session. That’s what hooks me. Chatty and funny - from 4 very knowledgeable people. Great mix of experience too.

This used to be such a great podcast... CB, NB, MR and DM are all so good to listen to, and it was a funny and insightful review of each day’s cycling. But Kennaugh has totally ruined it! He has nothing useful to say, he thinks he’s funny but he’s not, and he talks incessantly and doesn’t let the...Read full review »

Usually really like this podcast but slowly it’s started to irritate the constant ‘Nairo’ whispers are getting annoying now. The atmosphere felt stilted and podcast lacked structure and was actually difficult to listen to, disappointed!

You come initially for post race analysis and you’re drawn back not just by the technical insights but by the history lessons and Matt Rendell’s soothing voice

David Millar has made it. I love Ned and I love Matt, but the first week of this pod was an absolute mash to the point where I switched to the the BBC version and only chanced back on here two days ago with Millar in the line up. Previously I came away having no idea what happened in the races,...Read full review »

The bits with Chris, David and Peter are excellent. Plus the rider interviews. But the self aggrandising drivel by the other two is so frustrating, particularly as they do have a lot of experience and knowledge to share. But it tends to be drowned out by their desperate need to become the Chuckle...Read full review »

This is one of the best sports podcasts. You get cycling info, stage info, brilliant interviews or for those who know- the not quite real interviews, banter and fun. I can’t watch the stages on tv and have been hoping to find a podcast that will describe what happened and speculate on future stages (RIP Bespoke). This podcast somewhat does that, I just wish they’d stop talking over each other and interrupting.
