Compelling and provocative
Such an original and effective way of exploring post ‘45 British (and Commonwealth) history. As a New Zealand listener I can recognise many of these themes and echoes. Am thrilled there’s a 3rd season on the way! Another Podcasters’ gem!

A wonderful series which critically examines the foundations of the modern British state. It provides well researched thematic history of those formative years alongside myth busting of nostalgia. A great listen which is definitely helped by the great soundtrack and Roz’s smooth voice!

Enjoyed this look at Britain’s ongoing WW2 nostalgia habit. Good contributions from historians that puts Brit’s view of WW2 into a more balanced context. Good point about German anglophilia, hadn’t thought about that.
