I applaud these journalists for their thoughtful and thorough exploration of such a sensitive and nuanced topic. The earlier episodes have a tendency to be repetitive—there will be audio of an interviewee saying something and then the hosts repeat it verbatim as if the audience didn’t just hear...Read full review »

Whilst purporting to constitute a balanced investigation into these allegations, the show ultimately landed too heavily in support of the accusers. Perhaps because Gaiman decided not to play ball and be interviewed. Spurious suggestions, e.g. that the creation of an NDA to fortify a settlement...Read full review »

Thank you for being so thoughtful. This has been extremely helpful. Coercive control is subtle and your ability to describe it is impeccable.

This show is terribly cited for folk claiming to be reputable journalists. They say “Gaiman’s position” or some such vague nonsense no less than 50 times through the series then NEVER CITE how they supposedly got his positions. I can’t trust anything they present because of their use of “some...Read full review »

Excellent! Sensitively told and thought provoking. Too bad Gaiman isn’t evolved enough to own his appalling behaviour.

Really well done podcast. A soft spoken beast of a man, whose abuse has been enabled by lawyers who get corrosive NDAs signed for him at the drop of his trousers. It was still in the first ep that I unfollowed Amanda on social media, so there’s that disappointing side effect as well.

Thank you tortoise. Thank you. Women and victims have always had to rely on the whisper network to protect others. This was a risky story, but will potentially help many many many future potential victims. We need more of this.

Thank you for shedding light on this. As a (former) fan of Gaiman’s work, I’m now rethinking everything he’s ever done, written, or said. Needless to say, I won’t be buying any more of his books. My heart goes out to the women who have had the courage to speak out against such a powerful man.

I really appreciated the obvious care the journalists took in telling this story - of addressing a necessary confusion they ran into with these stories while centering the reality of victims never being “perfect”. I appreciate that they included Gaiman’s responses to a lot of the specific...Read full review »
