From a Thomas Hardy Fan
Thomas Hardy is a neglected master of the novel. And yes, I read Jude The Obscure a long time ago. And also Tess of the D'urbevilles, Far From the Madding Crowd, The Mayor of Casterbridge, and Return of the Native. So I was psyched to hear that Michael Ian Black is reading and commenting on Jude the Obscure. While the book itself is pretty a pretty dark examination of human nature, Michael's commentary is hilarious. I love how he restates what Hardy is saying in modern terms. I hope he sticks with the whole book! The episodes are only a half hour long so they are easy to squeeze into my day. Great podcast so far!Read full review »
