Promising
It's a new podcast, so will undoubtedly get better over time. The confidence of the hosts is already improving immensely and the recommendations are expanding into books not necessarily being promoted by publishers (which makes me crazy, since the books promoted by publishers are almost entirely first person thrillers and cozies, which are not the categories single-minded mystery readers tend to love, but are rather attractive to people who read lots of genres). Please more hard boiled, PI, legal thrillers, spies and detective series! Less (or preferably no) lit fic with mysterious elements. Just try talking sci-fi with sci-fi fans and claiming that lit fic with slightly futuristic aspects is sci-fi and you'll get why mystery fans hate "mystery elements" being passed as mysteries. Also, petty pet peeve: it's a mystery/mysteries, not a mystery book. Mostly you guys use the former, but every time you use the latter I yell at the podcast. Update: I’m unsubscribing. They barely talk about actual mysteries, and I can’t stand it anymore. On the search for a new podcast.Read full review »

I started listening to this because I liked Rincey's youtube vidoes but the other cohost from Book Riot has been great as well. I'm looking forward to hearing more about mysteries & thrillers (and I guess horror is kind of there too?). It'd be nice to see some themed episodes...Read full review »
