Anne Ondrey shifted from a career in social work and reporting to teaching yoga in 2007. She specializes in therapeutic, restorative and chair yoga.
Anne discusses the importance of interoception and how it has guided her teachings to help individuals, especially older adults, move in a way that feels right to them. She highlights her transition to yoga in her late forties, and what led her to the exploration of various movement and body work modalities including fascial stretch therapy, neurokinetic therapy, and Reiki. We talk about how she integrates these practices into her yoga teachings, aiming to empower her students to engage with their bodies from an internal perspective, promoting healing, awareness, and a deeper connection to movement.
Anne shares her insights into aging well, addressing chronic pain, and encouraging a non-judgmental and curious approach to movement. Here’s my conversation with Ann
