Trigger Warning: in this episode, we discuss Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in-depth, and may be triggering for some listeners.
PTSD is a mental health condition that can happen after someone goes through a traumatic event or ordeal. It can cause changes in your brain and body that make it hard for you to function normally. These changes can last for months or even years after the event happened, making it not only difficult to go back to normal life, but getting to where you want to be,
However, there are ways that people have learned how to live with their symptoms over time so they can still function healthily. And some even feel empowered by their diagnosis, allowing them to go on a healing journey and still go after what they want in life.
So, how can one live with PTSD?
In this week's episode, I sit down with the Co-Founder & CEO of Mira Therapeutics, CJ Internicola. The Mira App is now used by thousands of trauma survivors around the world and is available on Android and iOS.
In our conversation, CJ shares his findings and insights about PTSD throughout his time building and establishing Mira, and I also share my own journey with PTSD. In more detail, we discuss:
