“A bit of background. I don’t like to cook. I’m not good at it, and I avoid doing it whenever possible. And I’m not going to change; Adam’s videos and podcast will not make me cook more.
So why do I like this guy so much?
He’s funny, he’s interesting, and he’s informative. And not just “how to cook” informative, which I would not find very engaging. He talks about food history, science, and culture.
But there’s another thing that makes me keep coming back. He’s genuine. Well, as genuine as a content creator can be. I don’t imagine his online persona being the same as his “chilling with friends” persona. That’s just not possible. By genuine, I mean that when he says, “I feel this way,” I believe that the *real* Adam Ragusea feels that way. When he says, “this is what I do in real life,” I believe him. I don’t take everything he says as fact, but I feel confident that everything comes from his heart.
And he’s not afraid to say he was wrong about something. And he’s not afraid to say that he doesn’t know something. He’s not an arrogant know-it-all. He’s an interesting guy who likes to cook. And I like listening to him.”
