Interesting stuff
My 3 x great grandparents were Irish Convicts sent out here as very young adults. They made good and were able to have a vault in the Devonshire St Cemetery for themselves, their children and grandchildren to be interred. When the time came to move the remains, their youngest son bought a plot in the Catholic Section of the Rookwood Necropolis and they were all re-buried together, there are 14 in all. I found this podcast and the Exhibition 'Dead Central' very interesting. Not just because it has given me an insight into Colonial Sydney but to learn about my my ancestors first resting place and the City they called home. Thank you State Library for doing a job well done. I’m looking forward to the next episode.Read full review »

Listened to the entire podcast, start to finish. It’s an extraordinarily detailed and fascinating exploration into the lives and deaths of those that came before us, particularly those that helped shape and build the city we love and live in today. Have you considered more episodes in the future?...Read full review »
