I listened to three episodes. The presentation style is pleasant and easy to understand. However, the financial information is unlikely to be useful for anyone who has done more than casual research. Lots of information, but little practical information. Many other podcasts present practical...Read full review »

A weekly, 30 minute long, advertisement, interrupted with mini ads, that you can subscribe to. No actual information is shared. It’s all, “if this is your situation, you definitely need a financial planner. Try ours, it’s great at your situation!”

I only listened to part 1 of the pod about retiring abroad. The dude being interviewed seemed like a big d bag and I’m wondering if the audience is a bunch of naive scared white people or if this guy is a xenophobe (or both). I assume anyone seriously considering retiring abroad has answered a...Read full review »

I listened to several episodes, but found the answer to most questions ends up with needing a financial planner. The sponsor of this podcast is a financial planning firm. Also,I found the information to often be incomplete, if not inaccurate. In the podcast today, an answer included buying an...Read full review »

The show is okay. Every once in a while there is something educational, but essentially it’s an infomercial for EFE and very basic.

A true value-based podcast! Thanks for sharing non-fluff education on how to elevate our finacial potential, Jean. Loved your episode, Financial Planning for Single People. I got a lot of fresh insights. More power to this show and looking forward to more of your epsiodes

I really enjoy this podcast and learn a lot…. Great topics. I look forward to listening to it. 😊

I have listened to this podcast for awhile but have started to notice the host starting to promote her own company called Her money. If I wanted advice about Her Money, I wouldn’t be listening to this one. Deleted the future podcasts. Just Index

I’m not sure if there was an announcement and I miss it but really enjoyed hearing more than one perspective.

Now that they've booted the half of the team that openly mocked conservatives, we can get back to neutral advice about money. Goodbye and good riddance to the epic fail by Edelman Financial Engines. Thankfully I know from experience they are better at managing money.Read full review »

This show is great, but it’s also a great drinking game. If you have a drink every time one of the hosts says, “Right? “, you will be bombed about halfway through each episode.

Enjoy the show but hoping you’ll consider a series or shows for single women and financial planning, retirement, both never married and other statuses. I realize the world is built around coupledom and families and are the primary audience for you. But we do exist! Thanks.

Decent content but all the plugs to Edelman financial engines is disruptive to the flow of the podcast.Too many other really good podcasts out there to continue to listen to this one
Bilbon1575 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/07/22
I have been listening to this show for years and really like the new format with Soledad and Jean. I only wish the podcast feed was separate for full episodes and the bonus episodes which are just individual segments from the episode.
LizzieIBS via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/29/22
Would rather listen to a once a week format of about 30-50 minutes instead of having all the 3-5 minute multiple episodes that contain the same content that was part of the weekly episode. Very annoying to follow the podcast.
vms200 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/22/22
The content is ok, but there are just way too many plugs for Edelman Financial. It actively makes me NOT want to be a customer of Edelman. Stop pounding us over the head with it.
JCJ326 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/07/22
Trying to make something as simple as rebalancing impossible without their financial advisor? Silly. This show is not teaching anyone. The entire show is designed to convince people that they can’t hack it without their advisors. People need to go somewhere else for advice.
Abe77 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/01/22
Hosts are ok trying to provide basic information while the “expert” guests brought in from Edelman are just trying to guilt and scare and convince listeners to use Edelman Financial Engines as a financial planner. Clear conflict of interest here.
Cbonnell0564 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/31/22
Jean and Soledad and their guest are so pleasant and talk about relevant topics in a simple and easily understandable way. This is practice podcast well worth listening to, I just wish they wouldn’t repeat podcasts so often.
BCMusicLover via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/08/22
I appreciate what they discuss but the download format is annoying. I’ll listen in the car and it will play a few 4 minute bonus episodes and then a longer 25 minute episode that contains those bonus parts so I’m listening to the same stuff. They also replay episodes which adds to the repetition....Read full review »

Well now Edelman financial is pushing E.S.G. great. Been following E.S.G. for about a year and a half now. This may be OK if you have no knowledge of anything finance-related, but for me it’s too basic and includes too much personal opinion and lifestyle discussion.

Wow - what amazing social commentary from your first guest on episode 15. If I want to hear about how someone is so white-privileged, I’ll find a leftist political podcast.
AceF18 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/10/22
Your discussion with Ken Dychtwald was extremely off putting. Anyone who does not subscribe to his post-career views is dismissed as just “goofing off” in retirement? Hard to take your show seriously when you put this type of condescending drivel out there.

I really want to love this podcast because I love HerMoney, and there is good information, but every episode is basically “You need a financial planner” and then someone from Edelman comes on and talks about their services. It’s one big ad, episode after episode.
kat314159 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 03/20/22
I listen to a lot of financial podcasts. I love Hermoney that Jean does. I find this one way too full of fluff. Today’s episode was full of political opinions and lacked on substance. To be honest with you, it’s just plain boring!
jjt1412 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/18/22
This show does not need two hosts for less than a hour, particularly since one seems clueless. Would be much more interesting if hosted by a knowledgeable financial planner rather than the two personalities who currently host. Would benefit from more time devoted Q&A from listeners.
Garycal via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/12/22
Really enjoying the new format - it’s important to hear advisors share real advice. Jean and Soledad are great!
KCMAMA5 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/28/22
I like the podcast, but it’s so annoying that you have the whole show downloaded and then you break it up into pieces and download it again during the week. Either do short segments or one long one - not both!

I initially liked the show, but after hearing a listener’s question being read and answered, I like it even more now. I miss Ric taking calls, but the email question made the new show all the more enjoyable for me.

Jean seems competent and lovely and has a beautiful voice. But she had impossible shoes to fill because Ric’s show was so great. I don’t know what Soledad’s job or role is other than to ask other people questions since she doesn’t appear to be a subject expert. The show now comes across as one...Read full review »

Have been a long time listener, but can’t handle the pivot to Soledad O’Brien; she will ruin the brand.

One word describes this podcast - awful. I miss Ric Edelman.
Sharkey7x24 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/16/22
New show is horrible. Nothing but a long commercial to try and get the listener to hire an overpriced financial planner. Soledad O’Brien and Jean Chatzky are truly unlistenable. Find the Jill On Money podcast instead…much better show.

I sure am going to miss Jean Edelman’s weekly psychobabble, said no one ever. Seriously the only part of this show that I absolutely cannot stand. Most of his advice is pretty good and entertaining. Thank God there’s a fast forward button.
Aerodaves via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/05/21
Looks like Ric is hanging up his microphone but probably a couple years past the expiration date. A victory lap worthy of his ego. I don’t know where to turn to for a spelling lesson now that everyone’s favorite segment will be no more in the fall… happy trails
14/f/Cali add me via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/15/21
This is usually a very good podcast but lately they keep sending out duplicates or 6 min of a previous podcast, which is nothing but a waste of our time. Also the “everyone’s favorite” portion of some of the podcast could be left off and I would be happy.
DPW1969123 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/27/21
Ric (or “Rice”) hammers home the same basic, sound principles weekly but makes each show interesting. Start saving early, contribute regularly and take responsible risks like buying stocks and getting a mortgage. Of course there’s a bit of a pitch, but I think he really cares. Great listen.
Amtrak13 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/02/21
I like the show when Rick is there ((except for Jean’s segment) but when his associate is there it’s a constant sales pitch and I think she often hedges much more than Rick when giving answers to questions.

Rick used to give a good fundamental advice for years. Don’t know what happened to him he became a scare monger especially since March 2020.
