The history of gay Toronto mirrors America’s queer history and this podcast is such an important discussion of gay history. My Gen Z children don’t realize how recent the complete erasure of queerness was. How in my own young adulthood complete persecution existed. This podcast mostly ignores the...Read full review »

As a gen z/ millennial cusp lesbian it’s wonderful to hear our history. Makes me very thankful for older 2SLGBTQIA+ folks who came before me and fought so I don’t have to go through what they went through.

This podcast does not advocate for sex trafficking, it advocates for sex work. These are extremely different. No one who is advocating for the decriminalization of sex work is advocating to make the sale and trade of human beings, ESPECIALLY against their wills, acceptable. In fact, I believe...Read full review »

Better off listening to joe Rogan to be honest.

I really want to like this show. The topics that are covered are crucial. But it doesn’t feel cogent. Season 1 was set up like an investigation into the murders and then it wasn’t. Switching fro Aurelia to Cassandra felt really confusing in season 2. I think the host is still green and learning...Read full review »

This is such a truly bad take on “sex work” that it’s stunning. Women who are trafficked into the sex trade need the protection of the Nordic Model… not a wild-west style decriminalization. Transwomen need better options than selling sex under pimps and madams.

I listen to a lot of podcasts ... season 1 of this was fantastic... I made it thru episode 1 here and it was ok ..it was slow...I was very interested in the subject matter but it just wasn’t keeping my interest ...

This podcast is professional and informative regarding the struggles of the trans community. I hope someday we can all respect one another and live together in peace.

This podcast (season one and the first ep of season two so far) deals with some very disturbing subject matter, but in a way that isn’t sensational and shows nothing but compassion. It incorporates a lot of stories about people’s lives around the crimes, both those of the victims and those who...Read full review »

Justin Ling is my favorite investigative reporter. Great presentation of a difficult subject. He is respectful and thoughtful.

Great investigative story. Well documented and presented in a very fair way. Hearing the actual voices of the people interviewed makes this so very real. Can’t say enough good things about the style, content and the presentation of a story that needs to be told. I’m blown away. I heard about this...Read full review »

Have heard great things about this podcast. But coming to it late, it’s impossible to know where to start - the episodes aren’t numbered or ordered.

Justin Ling is one of the best investigative journalists of the newer generation. He walks the walk, digs deep and is meticulous with his research.

My only complain is they weren’t numbered or dated so I accidentally jumped in in the middle.

This is a great podcast and it’s hard to believe it has so few reviews! Justin does a great job exploring this difficult case and it’s an easy listen (for true crime fans). Thankful for this in depth podcast

Justin puts this story together really well, never missing a moment of piecing together not just the serial killer in Toronto’s gay village, but putting it all in context along with other historic moments in the country and city at the time when other unresolved murders were happening. I’m so glad this podcast series was produced. It offers an insightful, well researched, and utterly horrifying look into the the violence and hate that the LGBTQ+ community in Toronto has faced for many, many decades. Thanks for Justin and the team for their efforts.

Sad and tragic story- however this was poorly done- might as well skip it - it is getting highly rated by LBG alphabet people- just because representation not realizing ratings aren’t for ideologies it’s there to help us find quality podcasts

This podcast was an eye-opening listen for me — an essential re-introduction to a community and its members that I did not know nearly as well as I should have. The murders and investigations are of course the narrative driver, but for me the richness of the podcast was the contextualization of...Read full review »

The Village is an incredible and detailed look into the investigation on the disappearances of men of colour and of lower socio-economic status in Toronto’s church-Wellesley village. But it doesn’t stop there. It begins to detail a history of the relationship between police and LGBTQ2IA...Read full review »
