The human spirit, the adversity, and the backstorry, it all comes to life here. I truly appreciate the choice of topic and delivery. This is a podcast to not miss! -Jim T

Some of the most interesting content I’ve ever heard on a podcast. And no bs, right to the point. Awesome work!!

This is one of my favorite podcasts out there (spoiler, I’m a historian of science and interested in oceans). MR Is a great interviewer and gets awesome guests. My favorites were the interviews of Helen rozwadowski, bathsheba demuth and Paige Madison. But all are really great.

A fantastic podcast on the history of exploration and related subjects. Really worth listening to. One of the best podcasts out there.

I truly enjoy the topic and format of this podcast. The discussions are insightful, offering a fresh perspective and approach to the history of exploration, but always away from the mainstream narratives and framing. Really enjoy the music too!

I love this podcast. The stories are without fail fascinating and gripping and Micheal’s voice is great. It combines all my favourite fields of research and I enjoy the diversity of the topics. Every day I tell my partner about what I learnt from the day’s listening. :) Awesome podcast!

How can a podcast of this quality have only ten reviews? There's a growing heap of often over-produced audio crap out there and it's unfortunate that great shows like this get overlooked.Read full review »

Gorgeous voice and interesting content!

An interesting podcast which unfortunately is often diminished by the interviewer’s insistence upon injecting liberal ideology. E.g., re the most recent podcast, is there really a need to discuss alleged exclusion of women researchers when addressing high altitude effects on the human body? Yikes.

Time to Eat the Dogs is a great podcast. Filled with fantastic guess who are really knowledgeable on their chosen topics. For anyone who is interested in human exploration, look no further!

This is a great podcast! I got started after Michael Robinson did a joint podcast with Jake Robins of wemartians. Fascinating topics treated well.

Michael Robinson is a decent interviewer, especially compared to most of those who work for the New Books in History podcast. As long as he sticks to asking questions about the explorer and the expedition in question, it's good. But when he asks an author a question such as, "So how was...Read full review »

This is a very interesting podcast that has a tight run time and gets straight to the point. There aren’t ten minutes of commercials before the actual episode starts. And there isn’t a smug, self satisfied host who isn’t funny and makes a lot of bad jokes. In a lot of other podcasts that claim...Read full review »

Mixes a lot of unrelated nonsensical nonpoints. Worst podcast I’ve ever heard

This podcast is my go-to on my commute to work. Mike Robinson’s questions are so thoughtful and the diversity of guests on the show allows me to think about exploration from many different angles. Highly recommend!

A great interview-style podcast - really interesting speakers and great questions and discussions. Even the academic guests break down their work in a fascinating and easy to follow way. Highly recommended for anyone who likes history and science!

Michael Robinson has found people with a wide range of backgrounds to feature on the podcasts, and his interest for the subject matter really comes through. He is a really good interviewer.

Michael is a natural host, and these podcasts make for fascinating listening. He’s engaging, curious, knowledgeable, and fun. He picks a cast of speakers to interview who not only know their material but are clearly passionate and inspired by it. Listening feels like pulling up a chair to a grand...Read full review »

I’m enjoying this podcast because host Michael Robinson lets his guests speak, often at length. He doesn’t ask leading questions, and he doesn’t advance his own opinions in the guise of questions: rather, he makes simple, straightforward inquiries that get to the heart of the guest’s topic. It’s...Read full review »
