I am a big fan of all four of these gents. This podcast is a hugely valuable resource for every adviser at any stage of their journey. I also know clients that listen to it and gain a huge amount of value. Even funnier when watched on YouTube.

This show is an ESSENTIAL listen for all advisers who care about real financial planning from the very best in the profession. Hugely grateful to you all taking your time out to share your knowledge and experience. Each episode is more valuable than all the NAAC-filled conferences combined....Read full review »

I've just finished listening to episode 42 in the car, and since you always ask for reviews, I thought, "Well, it's Easter weekend, I might as well write one." Good Points: The dynamic between the four guys is amazing, but it would be nice to hear another woman's voice...Read full review »

As an adviser in Singapore, the pod provides extremely refreshing content compared to the normal, backwards-looking industry subject matter. I’ve passed it on to other advisers as an example of a better way to give planning advice. @expatplanner

I’m 25 years old and have been advising for a year and a half now with a great company that does full fat financial planning (in Nick’s words). I love the podcast, not just because of the ‘banter’ between you all, but because of the nuggets of knowledge you can take away. It helps me a lot...Read full review »

Congratulations! 12 months late, but the honesty now about SJP. It wasn’t ever about how high the charges are/were. But that their “fees” are commission by another name on the pension and bond wrapper. The front end loading of adviser remuneration has driven the lack of on-going servicing. Hence...Read full review »

I recently came across The Real Advisor Podcast, whilst reviewing potential advisors. I am a private investor, not an advisor. It is a minefield out there, but listening to this podcast brings intelligent debate, clarity, sensible thinking and good humour, which has really helped in my search....Read full review »

A podcast full of lively discussions and great debates. I just hope that the FCA and compliance officers listen to it too. Just a little less banter about the Welsh rugby team please 😳 Great work guys.

Love this format and the interaction between the 4 (aka p*** taking). Great content and delivered in a meaningful way - not theory but practical. As an accountant I want to understand more about what Real Financial Advisers really do and how I can better join the dots between what I do and they...Read full review »

When I first heard about TRAP, knowing Andy and Nick and having met Alan I thought “OMG this’ll be a large dose of The Ego Has Landed!” And to a certain extent the banter and sometimes arguments that spill over do lean in that direction. But it’s humour and that’s a large part of the appeal...Read full review »

When they’re not talking over each other, taking the piss out of each other, heavy breathing, or talking when their microphones are muted, there are some absolute gems in this podcast! It has given me some great ideas since they started recording it and I’m just about to re-listen from the...Read full review »

…has anyone done that gag yet? Love the banter, particularly when Andy loses his cool and goes F-bombing. That’s the entertainment side, but you also deliver great content for the industry, from the heart. Genuine generosity in competitive business is rare. Well done lads. You bring wisdom to those who are navigating their own uncertain path in the world: you bring reassurance that it’s okay not to have all the answers; you bring peace of mind that it’s okay to make mistakes and that you’ll be wiser for it; you bring optimism and hope from your own achievements;...Read full review »

Brilliant podcast - especially for those relatively new to the profession such as myself. The hosts always cut through any nonsense in the profession and make good points based on solid facts and examples. A must listed for any IFA. 6 out of 5. Sean Lowson of Waverton Wealth in Edinburgh.

I’ve been listening to half a dozen episodes of TRAP now and finding it really helpful. Nobody should be paying 1-1.5% for this bog standard boglehead advice. Nor should they be paying for “hand holding”. These guys never mention investment risk management and appear to have forgotten Buffet’s golden rule “don’t lose money”.
