As a child in Turkey, I was hearing about the war in Bosnia. I remember something bad happening there but couldn't grasp it. Now, as I listened what happened, my heart aches. These shouldn't be forgotten, not for animosity or hatred, but to realize how precious is the life and living together. People may have some vague knowledge about what happened, but this is a very important retelling of what happened. By people who were there and survived. The UN failing to intervene because the wrong form was filled in is all too real. Sadly.

This is a chilling recount of the atrocities committed by the Bosnian Serbs against their neighbours during the war in the 1990s. It’s a glimpse into humanity’s potential for great cruelty and abuse of power. Very frightening, but a very important listen.

I first learned about the mass genocide that took place at Srebrenica on a visit to Bosnia in 2015. The stories were told by people the same age as me, who were children in the early 90s.
