Has potential to be so much better
I’ve been excited to listen to each episode but when I start them, I often turn off prematurely because if I’m honest, they are a frustrating listen. The host is definitely demonstrating charisma, but the questioning is far from shrewd and lacks any skill. There could be more open questions rather than leading or funnelling the speaker down a particular route with their answer, which feels restrictive and limits conversation. It’s also pretty basic that when you’ve asked a question of your guest, you allow the person time and space to answer. Don’t talk over them or fill silences. After all, their answers should be the most interesting element of the podcast! The host makes it feel rushed and erratic. It gets tiring hearing the word ‘like’ used hundreds of times. Slowing down the pace would allow for more considered choice of words. I agree with previous reviews that the host talks too much - suggestion to stop shoehorning in personal anecdotes and that go on so long. This podcast has potential, but for now…I much prefer Diary of a CEO.

I love the guests but sometimes I have to switch off as the host cuts off her guests while they’re talking and diverts the narrative back to her experience rather than letting the guests talk. I think the host needs to start fully shining the spotlight on the guest as that’s who we are listening...Read full review »
