I am a sucker for any kind of podcast that discusses film. While I don’t always agree with the taste of the hosts (sometimes more subtle or understated performances are ragged on for not being showy enough) it’s always a fun listen to hear their opinions and they are always engaging to listen to....Read full review »

The show started strong but the last several have been increasingly dominated by Joe being creating ludicrous justifications for his grudges and dominating the conversation…and not for the best. Brandon has also taken to saying “um” multiple times per sentence.

While I don’t agree with them on every point or movie, I can’t get enough of Brandon and Joey and their wonderful chemistry on this show! One of my favorite listens on a weekly basis!

Found this through a different podcast Joey was on as a guest- and to be honest I’m super into this. Was nervous as I didn’t know really what to expect but both Brandon and Joey are all about the experience they both give here, and they both balance each other our personality wise. Joey is...Read full review »

Interesting podcast but one of the hosts (Joey) just makes the same jokes again and again. He’s repetitive, comes off as ignorant and stubborn, and thinks being loud means his opinion is important. Brandon has thoughtful takes that make me reconsider my beliefs on certain movies and makes me...Read full review »

I love finding other queer people who are as big of a nerd about the Academy Awards, as I am! Love the chemistry of hosts. AND THE INTERVIEW WITH LESLIE ANN WARREN IS LIT 💕🌈💕🌈 Zacary Landolt Host of “In Another World: a pop culture podcast”

This podcast has some real assets on it's side. Hosts Brandon Stanwyck and Joey Gentile have a nice rapport and the fact that they move chronologically through Best Actress lineups means that their podcast has a decent structure. There are a lot of aspects of it that could be improved...Read full review »

Love it! Good job, boys! Always interesting to hear your opinions and the reasoning behind your choices is always varied and thought out. You cover a broad range of years which is fantastic and always interesting to hear about some earlier work including some discussion of typically lesser seen...Read full review »

Honestly where does one start with these two? They’re funny, they have great insight, and I just want more. If you want all the best academy history & a hilarious commentary come to this. Also, seriously- Joeys Glenn Close takes are not wrong

A gem that I’m glad is growing. Keep it up boys

Brandon & Joey are the best. I love to hear their thoughts and opinions on Oscar nominated performances! They’re both funny, engaging, and just great guys. Highly recommended!

I like these guys. I listened for the first time recently when Be Kind Rewind was on and I continue to come back. Even though I often disagree with some opinions expressed, I never find the guys obnoxious or pretentious. And that makes it fun. I hope they continue the show after they catch up...Read full review »

It’s challenging — frustrating, I mean — to listen to something I’m passionate about and listen to throat clicks and a collection of letter that aren’t words throughout the analysis. Also too... 🤬

Brandon & Joey are an amazing duo. Both are so much fun to listen to, Joey with his witty banter and then Brandon with his natural sly remarks. Listening to them is like a drug, and I need more- feeling like a junkie without new episodes daily.

Just listened to the one with Ghost. I find both Joey and Brandon really entertaining. I am not gay, but love film and it’s been fun to remember these movies along with y’all. The guy who complained that it is not compressive because they are just doing actresses just hasn’t paid attention....Read full review »

Finally a podcast dedicated to the two Oscar categories that most interest me: lead and supporting actress. Enough of those podcasts that yap on and on talking about male this/male that (which is definitely what happens when you get into other categories since...Read full review »

As someone who has watched maybe four movies (tv show person here), I’m invested because of the funny and knowledgeable hosts. If you LOVE MOVIES and LOVE AWARDS then you’ll dig this ditch!

I heard about this podcast from And the Runner-Up Is (which is excellent). For Oscar watchers/actressexuals, this is a (generally) fun trip down memory lane; however, it’s a stretch to call it an “LGBT guide” to the Oscars “per category, per year” because it only ever covers Best Actress and Bess...Read full review »
