You sunk my pretension!
Love this podcast, Tyler and David manage to keep a good pace, the audio quality is as solid as any other listenable podcast out there (not tin-ey or crazy with the levels), there sure as heck know a goshdarn lot about film and throw just enough pop culture/recent events in to keep everything fairly relevant. Only critique I have is that their guests in episodes 223 and 226 were by far the worst stand up comedians I've ever heard on a podcast. one sounded like a "mentally handicap-able" person (not that there's anything wrong with that, but to listen to a dullard ignoramus for over an hour is just intolerable), and the other was far too nasally and seeming full of himself/smarmy to have so intimately nestled in my earbuds for a whole show. I hope in the future they'll take into consideration to make sure their guests have such silky smooth timbers as Tyler and David manage to on a weekly basis, even when suffering from colds and such... Keep up the great work guys, you make my job/commute fly by, and keep me up to date in the cinauniverse.Read full review »

Why? It's a no-frills, intelligent, funny...Read full review »

Battleship Pretension isn't so much an acquired taste as a complex taste. A large chunk of the fun of this podcast consists in the interplay between the two hosts -- an interplay grounded in their long history and a decopage of running jokes, peeves, and passions. You can enjoy the podcast,...Read full review »
