“I discovered Dr.Estima’s podcast earlier this year through another podcast she was on (that I can’t every remember the name of anymore).
Im 37 and found out I had uterine fibroids, which prompted me into a deep learning experience of searching for podcasts for holistic, women’s health. I didn’t want to go on the pill as it had messed me up in my 20’s, so I knew I just needed to learn more about what was happening to me. I knew my health was off but I kept ignoring it and it’s sad we do nothing till a problem arises.
I’ve always considered myself quite health conscious of my body, especially in my selfish 20’s when I had all the time to indulge in myself, but after my first child 6 years ago, my focus was on parenting and being the best mama I could be and my health faded into the background. But with podcasts, I can wait in the school pick-up line, and listen and learn! Once I got fibroids and gained 25lbs, I knew enough is enough.
I didn’t even know about our infradian rhythm! 37 years old and didn’t know this!! How is this not taught in all schools?! Being health conscious doesn’t mean I knew sh*t about WOMENS health (like I thought I did).
The first thing that got me was her voice! Lol. Her soothing, sexy, voice totally had me in a trance! I began listening for HOURS!
With podcasts, sometimes whiny, high-pitched voices, annoy me too much to keep listening, but Stephanie’s was so easy to listen too. Her guests are always interesting, her geeky magic clips are so fun (my fav is her May 26th 2021 episode “tap into your desire”) and her info is priceless. She keeps it real, she tries to make it as easy to follow as possible (for all us “laymen”), and really wants to help us understand our bodies more. Nothing is ever a quick fix (without consequences) and the slow and steady way of learning your body is what’s ultimately the best gift we can give ourselves. I can’t wait to order her book for my birthday coming up. I’ve been eyeing it for awhile…
All women should listen in each week, teach your girlfriends, teach your daughters, teach your nieces, your mothers, about their bodies, hormones and lifestyles we live and we WILL have a stronger, happier, world of women!”
