I listened to this podcast while going through RCIA, to learn more about this painful chapter in church history. It’s powerful and well made. I think of the quote “what’s mine to do, and no one else’s” at least once a week. Highly recommend.

I listened to the survivor stories and their testimony was heartbreaking but I am grateful they shared their struggle to reveal the truth. I hope this podcast helps challenge men who want to be priests to get their minds in the right track.

I became interested in your podcast since reading Robert Barron’s book Letter to a Suffering Church. He’d be a great guest

Really great podcast on a really difficult issue.

This is a great podcast that is accessible and rewarding to both Catholics and non-Catholics, regardless of the listeners’ spirituality, and approaches its sensitive subject with the respect and professionalism it deserves, all while maintaining an all round earnest yet neutral tone. It is deeply...Read full review »

If you’ve watched Spotlight and want to know more about the clergy abuse epidemic in the Catholic Church this podcast covers all angles. Hard to listen at points but an important topic to understand and know more about. Highly recommend- an important piece of investigative journalism following on...Read full review »

Listening to Deliver Us was akin to eating an over cooked, soggy serving of vegetables. I know it’s good for me, but it’s hard to swallow. Yet, mixed in there are spoonfuls if well salted, peppered and buttered morsels that make the distasteful worth eating. The podcast anticipated every question...Read full review »

Every episode left me with new insights, but I felt most of the information was already known to anyone well-read on the crisis. This podcast was good, but left me with some regrets. Wish it addressed the 1985 document alerting bishops to child sex abuse in the Church. Wish they put greater...Read full review »

This podcast has got some compelling elements. But, only a few laity will listen to. Most active Catholics only hear the PR spin put out by their diocese. Shows like this are off limits to most Catholics because they choose ignorants over knowledge. It's to painful to be informed about the...Read full review »

I am a Catholic Convert (2003) and came across this listening to another podcast. I’ve never really been able to articulate to my non-Catholic family & friends how I could “stay in a church that could do that to children” but you have given me the words, hope and the inspiration to speak....Read full review »

I like most of the content of the podcast, it’s very factual and straight to the point. Just don’t really enjoy the occasional religious aspect and inclusion of prayers. I get that the host is still “religious” it would be nice not to have that pushed on you. Religion is a choice, you are...Read full review »

In a time of great suffering in our Church, these episodes brought me to tears but also brought me hope. Thank you to those who worked to bring this podcast to us and for all of the effort you put into making this!

This podcast is incredibly well done. This is a very difficult topic to deal with as a Catholic myself, but the editorial voice brought to bear here by Maggi and her team is excellent - they’ve done an incredible ministry for the church.

Hard to listen to but extremely necessary. This complicated and upsetting issue is broken down into manageable pieces. Thank you for your work!

"Deliver Us" is deeply honest, brave, and profoundly moving. All of the episodes lead to a much better understanding of the appalling sex abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. Thanks. Keep doing this job. It is helping me to process and to pray. Two notes: 1/ I was not able to complete the Fortney sisters episode. 2/ the last tow episode were not the best, they were confusing. As this really is. But everything else was useful, clear, and needed.

This podcast has been invaluable to me, Maggie. I am struggling deeply with the organization which is the Catholic Church. I wasn’t sure how I could continue in my church with this horrific veil of abuse & silence. I can’t help but look @ every priest & wonder? Are you an abuser? Could...Read full review »

I have found this series difficult to listen to at times but extremely well-done and thought-provoking. It has made me think that I might be able to be part of the change in the church instead of leaving it.

I am not a young Catholic but have struggled with the abuse issue since 2002. Why do I stay? Why don't I leave? Is the church truly Christian? How can this evil be tolerated? Deliver Us is a phenomenal piece of journalism. This is the conversation that the World has been waiting for to begin the deeper conversations that the Church must have to begin to heal from this atrocity. Within the difficult and painful stories lie the seeds of true reconciliation and growth.

Though challenging to hear, as any podcast of this subject matter would be, this podcast is doing an excellent job of providing us an avenue to walk with the victims and understand more about the sex abuse crisis in the Church. Thank you America Media and Maggi Van Dorn for this podcast.

This excellent podcast helped me to realize that there are other lifelong Catholics who, like me, struggle to remain in the Church despite all the hypocrisy and nastiness coming from some of the clerical elite. I’d be gone if it wasn’t for Pope Francis. Thanks, Maggie
