One of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. After listening to ‘Just the Gist’, I thought I’d give this a go. I’m not usually into memoirs, but this was captivating from the first episode. A must listen 👌🏾.

An amazing, complex, hilarious and relatable audio masterpiece. Best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Chef’s kiss Miss Rosie, thanks for making the world a less lonely place for those of us who grew up differently👌🏽

Best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Will probably have to listen to the whole series again sometime. Loved every episode. Rosie is a beautiful writer and speaker. And was great hearing Lisa’s perspectives and sense of humour too.

Every student studying mental health and particularly childhood trauma should listen to this podcast. This is an incredible insight and we are very lucky for not only Rosie sharing it, but to also be a fly on the wall and hear the discussions take place after each chapter. This is such a valuable...Read full review »

This podcast has everything. I find myself laughing and crying. But most of all I am inspired by both Rosie and her Mum, and where their relationship is now.

Great podcast. I hope Rosie is ok. Her mum gaslights her something shocking in this. So much minimising and lack of responsibility.

I inhaled this in such a short time. I was addicted. Thanks for sharing your story Rosie! X

This podcast is simultaneously delightful and heartbreaking. Most outstandingly is the kindness and humour with which Rosie treats her mum in their post chapter conversations - given the way her mother’s addiction, decisions and choices impacted her and her siblings. That anyone can find humour...Read full review »

Rosie, you write like a dream! Thank you to you and your mum for sharing your families story xx

I have no idea what rating to give this. The mother is gaslighting Rosie the entire time. Rosie was subjected to sexual abuse due to her mother’s alcoholism and yet she thinks her alcohol fuelled POV is correct. She doesn’t apologise or try to empathise with her kid. Sorry but she’s so...Read full review »

Absolutely loved this podcast. It’s brutally honest & an even though it’s a hard listen at times, it’s very enjoyable to listen too and funny. I think Rosie & her mum are amazingly brave to speak about their mental illnesses. I’m glad that both ladies have got the help they needed &...Read full review »

Wow so brave, heart breaking, funny, real and raw. Such an eye opener. Makes me wonder how I am doing as a parent. I have drank, smoked, partied etc. but don’t anymore. But I’m super lazy when to comes to house work. I hope I’m not damaging them too bad. I wish you, your mum and whole family...Read full review »

A Fabulously brave and courageous podcast. So interesting. I loved your concept of reading your book of your memoirs, chapter by chapter, to your mum and then listening to her response. You two never missed a beat. I couldn't stop listening. I can see how this experience would bring you...Read full review »

You are to be commended Rosie, for the authentic recap of a tumultuous life. Not many women could sustain a happy relationship with their mother, with those dreadful memories. You are so funny and I am saddened at your experience today of “fat shaming”. It has made me think hard on my own...Read full review »

I loved getting even more depth to what was already a great book! You both covered so many challenging and complex issues with honesty and humour. Your dynamic was so interesting to listen to. Thanks for sharing so much through what was clearly a difficult process for you both

This show is so fabulous, please make another one with your second book Rosie! Such a huge insight into Rosie’s funny, quirky and inspiring life.

To be so up close and personal to childhood trauma is incredibly generous of Rosie and her mother. All the topics, poverty, drug addiction, bullying, the foster system, domestic violence and remarkably humor and it’s uses after trauma. A brilliantly crafted podcast.

Loved this. You’re an amazing story teller Rosie, so easy to listen to. I found my self laughing, crying & wanting to listen more. I hadn’t read Rosie’s book before listening and was horrified by some of the content. And even more baffled by the way Lisa laughed about and minimised what had happened. Could not stop listening

Completely binged it, related to so much of it! Loved the format of reading the chapter & then discussing it with mum. Can’t wait for the next one 👍🏻😊

This podcast is by far my favourite I have ever come across, both of you should be so proud how far you have come, it’s so raw and so truthful and just a great podcast all round! You go girls 👏🏽

Rosie is wonderful and the stories told are raw, open, honest, sad and funny. The big ‘if ’ for me is that I found myself increasingly angry and frustrated at her mum’s comments as she comes across as lacking self awareness and in denial for all the damage she did in the past. I have a lot of...Read full review »

I loved this podcast. It’s a fantastic premise and it comes together really well. The conversations Lisa and Rosie have really interesting and I loved hearing their stories. Hearing how their relationship is now really makes me happy too.

Have binged this, love it. Lisa is brilliant, I love her and I think yeah ... how hard must it be to hear these stories told back. This podcast is one of my fave’s & thank you both for being so honest & raw. Your story is similar to my own except my birth giver would never be brave enough to face up to this as Lisa has. Hence, she does not deserve being called “Mum”. Despite all you have both been through, you still...Read full review »

I’m enjoying the podcast so far. Some people here criticise the mother for not owning up to things but even amongst the sober, no two memories are ever the same. This podcast was well done. The writing and discussion was clever, well organized, and easy to get lost in the story. Sometimes it was difficult to listen to because the story is real and raw. Rosie did a wonderful job of presenting humanity in all its forms for better or worse.
