Real Story: Christina "I don't want my daughter to ever think about Weight Watchers"
Listen now
Description
Diets are often passed down from generation to generation, like an old tea set that nobody wants. Meet Christina. She is throwing out the tea set. And that's why we are so excited to have  share her story.  She may not remember a time in her life where she wasn't on a diet, but Christina is a mother to her young daughter, and is working really hard to break free from the harmful effects of diet culture and food trauma. Lyndi and Christina chat about the importance of how language is used around food, setting boundaries with family members and role modelling healthy habits. Remember while your parents may have said or done things that impacted your relationship with food, you can still raise your children to have a healthy relationship with food.  If we redefine what it mean to be healthy and show that to our children, we can set them up for a lifetime of counting happy memories and never almonds.
