Letter to my daughter - points from this incredible podcast!
Though the participant was grappling with different things than you (i.e. marriage, sex, etc.), there are important elements that are brought up. I found this podcast to be very real and easy to relate to due to the honest revealing of the participant about how they feel and how their bodies and mind are responding to eating or not eating, allowing vs. not allowing and about loving oneself. I loved how Marc David brought about the importance of life phases and that their newness is o:k. Who of us has had the experience to deal with where we are as we are there for the first time? I also liked his emphasis on dispelling images of what we think we should be and how he emphasized the importance of allowing questioning and reframing. Life journeys are a great teacher revealing insecurities, what we like, what we need to learn. I loved his emphasis on honoring our feelings, nothing is wrong and because of this, allowing growth. We can embrace that we are where we are for a good reason. Interesting note that he makes about how we turn to food when we don't understand or are trying to avoid, escape, etc. To help, be real and authentic about the situation. Honesty is important. Take it on. Allow time, allow yourself to relax because relax leads to trust leads to faith in something bigger than ourselves. Forgive yourself. Allow yourself to find yourself. Allow yourself to address challenges and know that this is not easy. Take it on - work on it - this is so relatable across the board with many of life's challenging scenarios. Allow yourself to focus on yourself. We create stress. We take on thoughts and beliefs that are inaccurate. We set up false expectations. We must over power toxic thoughts and replace them with allowing thoughts. We are just growing and become the best version of ourselves. When we boil and heat up, we allow ourselves to transform like never before. Out of the most challenging times, comes the most growth. Love, MomRead full review »

I’m so glad that Psychology of Eating has started a podcast! Too often, we only look at the mechanics of eating properly, all the while ignoring the most important mechanism in the eating process: the brain. Marc David and Emily Rosen take a refreshingly different approach to proper dietary...Read full review »
