Combines genuine fondness and passion for the horror genre with nuanced discussion of the films. Well worth listening to.

*ghostface voice* What’s your favourite scaaarryy podcast? Mine is forever and always The Final Girls! Anna and her guests are always smart, funny and so knowledgeable-I credit them with getting me into horror and I dedicated my mini dissertation module at UCL (The Mother of All Horror-Maternity...Read full review »

Smart, thought-provoking and funny. What more could you ask for?

Although Horror may seem to contain more than its fair share of problematic depictions of women, a reasonable case can be made for it actually being film’s most feminist genre. With this in mind, Anna Bogutskaya and esteemed guests discuss and dissect classics, soon-to-be classics, and films...Read full review »

Anna and her always entertaining guests provide some great takes on horror films, and it is a podcast I always listen to as soon as it drops.

This has quickly become the podcast I most look forward to each week. Come for the humour & deep love of horror - stay for the evolving definition of ‘Dance Horror’ as a subgenre.

It would be easy for any feminist movie show to focus only on women/girls, but the host and her guests clearly understand the the feminism should embrace a look at all gender, sexuality, and identity matters. While that might sound intense to some folks, they mix up their analysis with clear love...Read full review »

Found this via the Evolution of Horror podcast on which Anna Bogutskaya is a frequent guest. She is a fantastic host and I love this podcast. It’s interesting and has great analysis and lets us share our appreciation for the horror genre. I binged it much too fast however and now I’m stuck having...Read full review »

This podcast has quickly become a favourite of mine, I’ve binged every episode over the last few months. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is awesome (I love film and feminism, but neither has the reputation of being exactly fun) and Anna is fab.

First I would just like to say this is an excellent podcast, with excellent guests, that is very well produced. Second, A personal note of gratitude to the host. Ok, as a cis, white, middle-aged man, and retired career Soldier, there are few things I have in common with my teenaged, LGBTQ,...Read full review »

As a format, it’s great, and Anna is a good host. The guests, however, are a mixed bag. One of the worst offenders is Leila Latif, a guest who seems to believe that every other word should be “like”.

Such a excellent show. The enthusiasm of Anna and her guests is fantastic and has lead to me revisiting old classics and seek out new favourites. Even when you are in disagreement with their opinions it’s a great listen. Would be improved with Anna saying ‘Boss Baby’ more often.

I discovered this pod recently via Evolution of Horror. It’s up there with Faculty of Horror for insightful, feminist critiques. Host and guests are always interesting, unique and fun to listen to. And Anna has a voice that could melt butter, so that doesn’t hurt!

I credit this podcast for helping me realise that I do, in fact, love horror films and that it’s totally legit to love the likes of Scream, Buffy and Heathers. Love love love the show! The audio is a bit weird though. I was listening to the new Fear Street episodes while driving and the level difference between the host and the guest are so dramatically different that I had to ride the levels to try to not get my ears pierced by bursts of laughter. My favorite eps are the ones where I’ve seen the movie and the pod makes me see it in a new light—“The Autopsy of Jane Doe” episode with Louise Blain is straight up a masterpiece.
