Temple of antidrink wokeness. Hosts know absolutely nothing about pubs/beer. Guests all know even less. Pure drivel. PS Does anyone know if Robbie ever worked on Soccer AM?

I could see the virtue of entering the pub at first, the banter from visiting guests was great, they had a great library, good music - A quiz! - I wasn’t keen on the original landlord however, just a little florid and uptight for my taste. I’ve embraced the ownership a lot more now Robbie and Dan...Read full review »

It’s such a shame, this podcast is the purest expression of John Robins, it reflected every facet of his personality. Things have changed though. Tim Lovejoy is the last straw. We all know for a fact that Johnny JR would not have that horrible little man in this show, irrespective of who the...Read full review »

Great podcast, hilarious, philosophical and gives some very interesting pub library entries

Oh no no no no no…. PLEASE DONT LEAVE US. I’m enthralled with this brilliant concept. It stretches the imagination, it’s informative, fun and saturated with facts about pubs and booze you never knew you wanted to learn. As usual Johns laconic and honest humour makes it a must listen - he’s a gift !

Over the last few months I’ve become a dedicated listener to this pod, and news this week that Landlord John and ever present patron, Robin, will be moving on from The Moon and the correct realm is a great sadness. Everything about this pod is perfection, and I hope someday it can be resurrected.

Barry Glendenning the best episode so far, just a great listening in general! Excellent concept for a podcast

Entertaining, educational, whimsical and moving. So glad I’ve found this podcast. The concept of a dream pub is a great place to start, but it’s so much more than that. John and Robin are excellent hosts, and I love the different segments (especially the literary one). The Barry Glendenning...Read full review »

Such a wonderful listen, gentle and comforting almost. I can genuinely say that every guest wether you know/like them or not are always worth listening to. I love the pub quiz and the book readings, in fact the majority of my conversations now are based on what I’ve heard on this podcast, dear...Read full review »

I gave this a go as I quite like the whole guest star chooses their perfect thing format. It took 25 minutes for guest star Greg James to turn up. John Robins had read out two long poems in that time. In between the two poems was a load of aimless faux-Dickensian rambling from a bloke who loves...Read full review »

Its always interesting even if you don’t know the guest. I am not familiar with Barry Glendenning but his episode was a high point in the podcast. A rollercoaster of emotions from a true pubsman. I was crying along with him at one point. Probably needs a trigger warning for anyone recently...Read full review »

Quite enjoyable but since you split the episodes, they play part two first - really annoying. You’ll probably say it’s an iPhone problem but they say it is not.

I came for Barry of Sandwiches of History, I stayed for the lovely imaginative banter of our landlord and lovely regular. Now I’ve subscribed. I have my own pub of the mind set now, for when I get to travel to the Correct Realm…

‘Saido’ - Named after journeyman’s football striker Saido Berahino changed to Bevarhino shortened to Saido or saidos. Couple of Saidos in the sun.

Pleasant seems like it’s underselling it, but it’s a really easy listen. I’m a craft beer w****r but I love the little things people enjoy about pubs. Does a great job of highlighting the little things. No gatekeeping.

Jonny JR and the Lovely Robin clearly have real close friendship, and this podcast is the perfect way to feel like you have a couple of mates in the car / office / train / living room with you. Thanks all!

10 mins in to the ad on the SDSB feed and it really hasn’t convinced me to listen on, which is a shame because the premise seems to have a lot of potential.

Not being a man who has sampled the real ale scene a lot I’ve enjoyed this a lot. Visited Southampton last week and booked a family meal in a local pub and noticed on tap they had neck oil so because of this podcast I decided to give it a go (£6.20!) and it was lovely. So I feel that I now have...Read full review »

What a lovely thing. It’s always great listening to people with a passion discuss the thing they’re passionate about and the romance that John and Robin have with the pub, both real and imagined, is quite a beautiful thing. I preface this review by saying that I really enjoy the podcast, the hosts have a great dynamic, the format is really good and the guests are very interesting. I’ve really enjoyed this pod (barring the first 5/10 mins of the first one). The podcast gets better each week. Great concept, one that could easily slip into the worst of pub/lad culture, but this really is the antithesis. There’s a warm, natural rapport between Robins and Robin that is so easy to listen to. Robin gets better each week and his segments, and John’s...Read full review »

Your minds never seem far away from UKIP of Farage - most episodes veer off momentarily to bash one or the other, have they really embedded themselves that far into your heads? Otherwise very enjoyable pods.
