The trouble is that endurance runners only train in endurance. [02:51] Distance runners didn’t grow up sprinting though, but watch any kid in a race and they are going to go full throttle and see what they’ve got. [03:00] You won’t do it for very long though. You’re just trying to see if you can do it. That’s intensity. [03:58] Feeling your knee killing you during a run - that’s a completely different pain. [06:41] Endurance athletes push through discomfort for success. They may get tired and feel fatigue or just general discomfort, but they keep going. You can too. [07:53] You may hit a wall at a certain mile, but that just means you may need interval training and drills. [10:57] Discomfort is fine, but real pain like a broken toe or bleeding injury is not okay!
