Really? Isn’t the point of going to the theatre to get triggered?

The presenter (Olly Mann) said that Hamas attacked Israel and Israel 'besieged' Gaza. 20,000 Gazans have been killed by Israel. Israel did a lot more than besiege. Words matter. Olly's phrasing is incredibly disrespectful to Palestinians.Read full review »

I kept forgetting this podcast even existed until I sat down to solitary dinner having listened to all the recent Slate Plus podcasts & there it was in my podcast app. I found this coverage of the week a welcome breath of NEW despite subscribing & supporting 10 or more news sources (from...Read full review »

I like finding these smaller items that have slipped through. Great addition to my news list

Always an enjoyable listen. Brings light on issues that otherwise i’d be none the wiser on and presents it in an accessible and well balanced fashion. Maybe you don’t agree with all viewpoints but you see where the arguments are coming from and thats more that can be said for a lot of shows of...Read full review »

Love Olly and most of the regular guests but can’t stand Abdul. I usually find him annoying but he was particularly obnoxious is the last episode.

I’ve made it through 300 episodes of The Week Unwrapped, and have found it to be informative and thought provoking, with a good balance of guests. Thank you! Lately, there have been some sound issues - some guests are quite difficult to hear, and the levels of the podcast compared to the adverts...Read full review »

It’s occurred to me for years now to come and write a review of this show just to question the strategy of placing Olly Mann as the host. The style of the show needs a more relaxed moderator. He’s on a totally different wavelength to that which the show’s format of interested and curious...Read full review »

Love the magazine, love the show. HOWEVER, why didn’t someone ask what happens if you happen to die, let’s say. Will my family have to stand me up in a corner and hold up my various devices to get to my bank, say? I expect Apple had protocols for such unlikely event. Clearly you are all too...Read full review »

I like this podcast and have listened every week for over a year now, but good lord do they need to employ a better sound editor. So frequently a section repeats itself, or the tail end of something that was clearly meant to be cut out remains in the final edit. It’s like it’s not copyedited at...Read full review »

I love this podcast, really great topics & covers lesser talked about news items. Can you please just tweek your sound, some of the journalists come across really faint & others really loudly. I’m sure you will be able to fix the poor sound quality & then I’ll give you 5stars :)

Oh no I think I accidentally tapped 4 stars! Brilliant approach to journalism, keeps me engaged in the news in a thoughtful way when I am otherwise tempted to shut off from it.

Week ending 16 April - what a joke these people are talking about state ‘v’ private schools - so many ‘myths’ being put on here that are just out of date and inaccurate. I couldn’t believe the comment about state school pastoral care being about getting pupils to school (undoubtedly one of many...Read full review »

Mann is fantastic as always. Episodes are really informative with interesting takes, but it really depends who’s in the episode. There a few Week writers who are unbearably happy-clapping and bring stories more about social politics than actual news.

The horrific, non stop tapping on the latest episode is so annoying. It’s like water torture!

Great content. Bad engineering, volume levels are all over the place. Hard to follow sometimes because you have to have your finger on the volume control.

Oddly today’s episode didn’t play instead it played the next podcast lined up on my list. Help!

He is also pompous and condescending to the younger reporters. He is out of touch and I can’t listen anymore. Learn about humility and grace, Olly.

Pro-choice. Choose Life. Abortion equals murder. Imagine if your mother decided to murder you. You wouldn’t be reading this.... There is support for mothers after the baby’s birth. Don’t lie.

The show is well thought out and the opinions expressed are insightful from the contributors. I only have one issue, and that’s Felicity Capon. Whilst I value her opinions, she does say far too many filler words that it becomes annoying. You could make how many times she says “sort of” into a...Read full review »

Olly asks the questions that come to my mind. They do a great job explaining the backstory for current events.

A thoroughly enjoyable podcast that is informative and interesting by being just off-centre from the typical news barrage, to discuss other interesting and topical goings-on around the globe. This podcast is awesome. Olly Mann is a legend in it and weighs up the arguments so well. Been listening for about a year and don’t think I’ve heard him be bias once, yet at the same time he’s a very good devils advocate. The modern news media has become as formulaic as cinema and television. It’s nice to hear about stories overlooked by corporate media behemoths, and the discussion is entertaining.

I used to really enjoy the show when it’s core panellists were what I would call free market liberals and Jamie Timpson. This meant that the stories featured a range of pro-market pro-City liberal and left-wing/democratic socialist opinion. Since Jamie Timpson has left it sounds to me like a...Read full review »

My jaw literally fell to the floor listening to this drivel. The discourse on most topics left little to be desired. The biggest shock was one of the female hosts categorically stating that any man accused of rape deserves to die. Wow.

Wow did you just call your colleague « little miss science » and denigrate women’s pain as a result of plastic surgery, all under 5 minutes? Unsubscribing due to extreme doucherie.
merciaurevoir via Apple Podcasts · Italy · 07/29/19
The topics are interesting but the hosts conversations are boring and they don’t seem very intelligent. The two female hosts are also very condescending which I don’t like.

A great podcast - if you can tolerate Jamie Timpson. Other commentators are thoughtful and balanced, but Timpson’s undeserved confidence is his own opinions and experiences is consistently jarring. Obnoxious and reactionary new-ladism at its worst.
