I listen to a lot of true crime. I was trying to branch out and listen to some more international stuff, but this one wasn’t for me. The host is completely fine and seems knowledgeable, but I just felt like I was missing. Ton of information at the end of each episode and I wanted them to be quite...Read full review »

Been looking for true crime podcasts for more international cases and I’m happy I found yours! I love how much you educate us on the culture and history of each country and how some of the crimes can tie into the culture. Anyways love the podcast and new fan here!!! ❤️❤️

I'm a long time fan of true crime and found your podcast quite by accident but wow I'm so glad I did! I am learning so much about Asian culture but also the false perceptions that many westerners have about Asia and the crimes that have gotten media attention. I applaud you for tackling...Read full review »

I enjoyed this one-person podcast a lot -- I binge-listened to all the episodes to date. It is very well-produced, with great research and great delivery. What makes it exceptional is the way she satisfiees the True Crime genre and then uses it to comment on enculturated ethnic narratives. ...Read full review »

The creator and narrator has produced a well researched and nicely scripted program. The crimes are interesting and the episodes are well paced. Unlike the other negaitive review I don't find the narrator boring in the least. The one caveat that I have with the program is the frequent...Read full review »

This podcast is really well researched and put together. I really like the intersectionalist perspective it takes mit just on the crimes but western interpretations of Asia.

This podcast does a great job of highlighting a crime (or series of crimes) while couching it in the cultural and historical contexts that are often lost in a world that exoticizes, generalizes, and infantilizes Asian countries into a vague monolith with a few facets at best. A particularly good...Read full review »

A great pod about Asian crimes, well- written and presented. Victim-centred and pretty fascinating cases that you’ve probably never heard of.

This podcast became a favorite of mine right when it started - I'm so glad the host decided to come back after a break. The podcast covers cases from the Asian continent that I have not heard of before, and also touches on some social issues. Would totally recommend for any true crime fan!

This is one of the best true crime podcasts I’ve ever heard, and I’ve listened to most of them. Fascinating cases handled in a sensitive way, and with an in-depth exploration of the local and global context. I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough! It’s an absolute gem.

Not only is new content rarely produced, but the content that is there isn't very good. While the tidbits about life in India and Singapore are really interesting, they're barely a footnote in an overall dull narration of the events of the crime. As a person of Asian descent, I wanted...Read full review »

What the host says in the beginning of her first episode is true. We don't hear about Asian true crime unless it's in Japan. So excited to hear new stories. If you're tired of hearing about the same old serial killers btk, Bundy, Gacy, and Dahmer this is for you.Read full review »

I love true crime, and this fills a gaping hole in my collection: non-western crimes, presented by a woman. On top of all that, this is a great podcast. Well told, engaging, well researched, ticks all the boxes. Can't wait for more episodes!

It's almost a disservice to label this show as simply 'true crime.' It is soo much more. Melissa brings you the political geography of the region covered using a local crime as a jumping off point for a much deeper discussion of history and context.
