About This Episode:
Crystal is currently in the Coming Home Program. In one session, we worked on the gastrointestinal symptoms that had recently appeared. She took medication prescribed by her primary care physician, but it did not reduce her symptoms.
Through a combination of somatic experiencing, meditation, and hypnosis, Crystal was guided to notice the sensations within her body and to tap into resources that helped her feel grounded and calm, even when difficult sensations arose. The integration of somatic experiencing with meditation techniques, such as body scanning, proved helpful in reducing Crystal's reactivity to the unpleasant sensations, which in turn helped reduce stress and improve digestion both during and after the session.
Crystal and I decided to discuss this further to share the power of somatic experiencing, mindfulness, and hypnosis in releasing energy and stress from the body. Listen in to hear more about Crystal’s experience!
