“I’ve noticed that the further I get into my forties, the more I’m having issues with stiffness and some achy joints. I happened upon Dr. Shannon on Instagram and started absorbing so much of her great info. Then realized she had a podcast! I’m working my way through them from the beginning and have already made adjustments to how I exercise. The episode on how to make your workouts anti-aging is important for those of us who have been exercising for decades and are breaking down a bit as more birthdays pass. Up until 43 I was doing a lot of high impact, high intensity bootcamp-style workouts with no issue, I’d run numerous half-marathons, etc. But at 48, it was like a switch flipped and things just don’t work the same. I have so much more insight now as to why and hopefully can utilize Dr. Shannon’s suggestions to slow down the degeneration I’ve done to my joints over the years. (Side lunges have never felt right to me, and now I see why I should have followed my gut!) Looking forward to listening to the future episodes.
