Chris, your experience, wisdom and perspective as a coach and runner is so valuable and helpful to me as a 37 yo mom of two who still wants to get faster and do big things. Thanks for sharing so much for free! You really should write a book about running and longevity. 😀

As a recreational but competitive runner I’ve loved listening to Chris on his coaching and running experiences. I’ve learned a lot of new concepts I had never heard of. Keep up the amazing job!

Chris does such a good job of addressing all aspects of long distance training and racing

I live this podcast- substantive, specific, always seems to touch on topics when I’m thinking about them either because time of year or time of season It takes an episode or two in order to get the rhythm of a single voice just talking- but once you get the flow you won’t be disappointed.

I opened my podcasts app specifically to find something about mental toughness for a marathon, and EVEN BETTER this episode has pacing and mental tips for my EXACT marathon (and it was already downloaded to my phone)! Exactly what I needed!

Long time listener, first time reviewer. This podcast has changed my running! It is the only podcast I listen to regularly and have listened to every episode at least once. If you want to improve your endurance running and training, I would highly recommend this podcast!

I’m a sporadic listener since 2020. The main reason I am inconsistent is because my personal running journey. Every time when I get back on the wagon, this podcast revives and rebuilds my running spirit! One of the greatest coaches for my life and I will more than likely come face to face with...Read full review »

I’m an aging middle of the packer, working mom of many, with personal goals and a love for the sport. I adore Chris’ accepting attitude about all paces but still maintains such a high quality, deeply substantive show. I listen to tons of running podcasts. I adore this show. Great podcast. Chris offers deep, thoughtful reflections about running and training. Running impacts so many aspects of our lives and psyche. I really appreciate how he brings a discussions of race into the conversations. No runner is an island. We are in a community, the bigger, broader the...Read full review »

Chris provides great insights and examples. This show helps me understand a lot of training concepts and helps keep me motivated.

Good information and perspective however the host seems concerned with being perceived as being woke. His self promotions to this end are awkward at times and cast a shadow on the overall content.

I’ve been running for 16 years (started at age 50) and thought I was done improving. I started listening to this podcast this summer and have been going through previous episodes (and reviewing some of them numerous times). Putting Chris’s wisdom into practice helped me dust off the rust and get...Read full review »

Loved episode 167!! Coach confirmed a bunch of my beliefs. I liked that he addressed the different approaches that are necessary for masters runners!! Thank you.

Way to much focus on drugs and your love for a few random woman in running isn’t authentic. Plenty of the runners and coaches you celebrate are just as guilty as the people you despise?

With a cohost, this podcast was bearable. It’s now become dull and slow. Some good topics, but it’s just so dry that I can’t listen anymore. I wish that were not the case, but until this podcast is injected with some life, even adding things like an intro with music would help slightly. But I...Read full review »

Unfortunately I had to unsubscribe to this pod that I once enjoyed a lot. Ever since the lost of the co host this pod has turned into a real snoozer. Very sad that it’s not more lively, as it once was!

I like the podcast until he said: “I don’t care what the science says...”. Well, science is about facts, not feelings. Is so frustrating because is so difficult to find podcasts based on facts about running.

I really enjoy this podcast. It is perfect for any running nerd that enjoys delving deeper into the sport. I do miss Steve Sisson. He played a good foil for Chris on topics. Revision: Chris has recently become too focused on people and trends he does not like in the sport. Without any foil to...Read full review »

I used to listen to this podcast all the time, but the absence of a co-host has made the show a real snoozer. This podcast needs a new co-host and should move the doping conversations to Chris’s Clean Sport Collective show where Kara can keep things on track and be an effective foil for Chris.

I have been listening for 2 years and chris does a good job explaining training theory. That said he has become WAY too pessimistic for my liking and really making me dislike the sport. I tried a few episodes. It’s distracting with the music playing throughout the podcast. The host’s speaking style has too many tangents and qualifiers that the message gets muddled. I also heard a lot of misinformation and unsupported statements so I couldn’t keep on listening.

What’s the point of having a slow runner near walker on the same pod as an Olympic qualifier and pretend they are the same ? I see you had the chief walker on your show again. “Running” is a sport. I feel like I have two extra coaches with Chris (and Steve, who I still miss)! Still a great podcast, I just don't listen to it as often as I did. Current events/news in the track and field world is still my favorite part.
